Jeyakumar Associates is a private firm offering consultancy in Landscape Design, Site Planning, Environmental Planning, Comprehensive Landscape Development, Landscape Conservation, etc. Jeyakumar Associates was established in the year 2000 by Principal Landscape Architect Mr.Jeyakumar based at Coimbatore. Later he was joined by Principal Landscape Architect Ms.Sushma Jeyakumar in the year 2003. The firm has qualified & experienced Landscape Architects, Architects, Engineers and other supportive staffs handling multitude projects. With around 18 years of experience in the field of Landscape Architecture – he is the founder and Principal of this firm M/s. Jeyakumar Associates. He completed his under graduation in Architecture with a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree from School of Architecture and Planning (SAP), Anna University, Chennai in 1996. He then completed his post graduation in landscape architecture with a Master of Landscape Architecture (M.L. ARCH) degree from School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi in 1998.

While pursuing the graduation he underwent training under the renowned Landscape Architect Prof. Ravindra Bhan in New Delhi. After Post Graduation he worked as landscape architect in Environmental Design Consultants, New Delhi under Urban Designer & Landscape Architect Ar.Mahesh Paliwal. Then he worked as senior Landscape Architect in the firm Design Cell, New Delhi under Urban Designer Ar.Ravi Punde & Landscape Architect Ar.Savita Punde.

With around 17 years of experience in the field of Landscape Architecture – she is a Principal in M/s. Jeyakumar Associates. She completed her under graduation in Architecture with a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree from Regional College of Engineering (REC), Jaipur in 1997. She then completed her post graduation in landscape architecture with a Master of Landscape Architecture (M.L. ARCH) degree from School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi in 1999.

She has worked as Landscape Architect in the firm Design Cell, New Delhi under Urban Designer Ar.Ravi Punde & Landscape Architect Ar.Savita Punde. She has also worked as senior Landscape Architect with M/s. Apollo Hospitals, Projects Division, New Delhi .

Design

The design process starts with a detailed understanding of the project, its requirements and vision through discussions with the clients & architects. It is taken further by collecting detailed and complete information pertaining to the site, climate, internal & external factors, user profiles, behavioral patterns etc.

The methodology continues through forming a overall vision for the project and a framework for evolution. The design undergoes series of brain storming sessions, discussions and building up of ideas through sketches, specifications, detailing etc. Finally through continuous refinement of design - arrive at the ideal solution suited for the needs and goals of the project.

We have been selected and awarded the most prestigious landscape design award in the country ISOLA Design Award by Indian Society of Landscape Architects for the year 2015. .

The award function was held on 22, January 2016 at Hotel JW Mariott, Bangalore as part of the annual ISOLA conference.

We were selected as one of the four finalists under landscape category and one among 60 finalists from all categories out of 600 entrants for the National Award 2015 organised by The Indian Institute of Architects.

The short listing was done through series of deliberations by a panel of Indian & International juries. The event was named CROSSROADS held on 8th & 9th April 2016 at Hotel Kadavu Resort, Calicut, Kerala.

There were more than 600 entries under various categories out of which 60 were shortlisted. The above poster shows the shortlisted presentations.

The entries were selected and judged by a panel of Judges by conducting two closed door evaluations and then by an open presentation in front of jury panel as well as the delegates.
