Last year, Jack Henry Banking announced the creation of the Get Smart program. This free program helps your bank better optimize your Jack Henry Banking solutions and provides an opportunity to earn core maintenance discounts while operating your bank more efficiently.

JHA Get Smart is an optional education-based product certification program that enables in-house and outsourced banks to formally certify employees on their core system and key complementary solutions. These certifications are designed to identify and train resident solution experts who can help optimize your day-to-day use and maximize the benefits that can come from Jack Henry Banking’s products and services. We’ve developed a unique certification curriculum offered through our Jack Henry University specifically for this purpose. Meanwhile JHA Get Smart rewards your bank for participating in specific engagement activities! It’s a win-win.

+ JHA GET SMART PROGRAM CHANGES AND HIGHLIGHTS

Based on client feedback, valuable input from client focus groups, and experience with this program during itsinaugural year, below are some key program changes and highlights for the coming year:

• In response to your feedback, we have reduced the number of core certifications required (check out the details on page 5).

• Core certifications, which include individual loans, deposits, and miscellaneous training modules, can be completed by the same or different program participants. We require that every bank certify on the specific core solution that you are using. To achieve this, you must certify on the individual loan, deposit, and miscellaneous core modules. Your bank can choose whether to have only one individual do all of the core certifications, or to have several individuals complete the various modules, as long as all core modules are completed and you meet the minimum requirement for associate certifications by asset size.

• Annual core and complementary re-certifications are required to maintain program discounts and must be completed during the current program year. To ensure that your knowledge base stays current, recertification is required every year, even if you certified the prior year. • Our certification modules are updated each year to include the latest features. Program participants completing initial certifications automatically had re-certification versions of the training in their transcripts on April 1, 2016.

• Six additional complementary solutions have been added to the program – Relationship 360™, OnBoard Loans™, iTalk™, Synapsys®, iPay Consumer Bill Pay™, and Enterprise Payment Solutions™ (EPS) Remote Deposit Complete™ (RDC). This gives your bank an opportunity to maximize your percentage discount.

• You may certify on any product or solution; however, you are only eligible to earn program points on certifications for solutions your bank has purchased from JHA.

• If your bank has purchased a complementary solution but have not yet implemented it, you may still certify on the product and receive program points.

• If your bank did not participate in GetSmart last year, you can enroll at any time and complete the certification training requirements in order to receive program points this year.

• The maximum program discount available is 14%.

• Program discounts for in-house banks are calculated based on annual core system maintenance fees.

• Program discounts for OutLink banks are calculated based on what the equivalent annual core maintenance fees for a bank of the same asset size and using the same core system.

+ THE VALUABLE PERKS CORE SYSTEM DISCOUNTS FOR YOUR BANK

Each product-specific certification and participation in the designated engagement activities accrue points which

translate into core system maintenance fee discounts for in-house clients and maintenance fee equivalent discounts

on core processing services for OutLink clients. By certifying in the solutions your bank uses or by participating in a

number of JHA-sponsored activities, your bank will accrue points, which translate into core system maintenance dis-

counts. OutLink banks receive equivalent maintenance fee discounts on core processing services. Program discounts

do not apply to complementary solution maintenance fees or complementary solution processing services.

Participating banks are required to certify on their respective core system – SilverLake System®, CIF 20/20®, or Core

Director®. Your bank can earn additional points and the potential for even greater core maintenance/core process-

ing discounts when you utilize and certify on the following solutions:

Your bank can also earn program points by participation in any of these activities:

• Attendance at the annual Banking Educational Conference (BEC) from October 17 to 20, 2016, at the Gaylord Texan (Grapevine, TX).

• Attendance by your president or CEO at the the annual JHB Executive Forum from October 17 to 19, 2016 – also at the Gaylord Texan.

• Contract for a JHA Client Services ConsultingSM (formerly Intellix Consulting™) operational assessment – available for SilverLake System, CIF 20/20, Core Director, NetTeller, the Vertex Teller Automation System, jhaPassPort, and Synergy Enterprise Content Management™. Operational assessments must be completed during the current annual certification period.

• Obtain a Know-It-All NOW eLearning subscription.

+ CERTIFICATION POINTS AND DISCOUNTS

+ CORE CERTIFICATIONS• The minimum number of core certifications required for program participation is provided in the asset table above. • Core certifications encompass three training modules – loans, deposits, and miscellaneous – and each module requires approximately 12 to 15 hours to complete. • The three training modules can be completed by the same or different program participants. • Banks can elect to certify more associates than required for their asset size, but additional points will not be awarded.

If you’re an in-house client and participate in the JHA Get Smart program, you’ll accrue points that can translate into core system maintenance fee discounts. These discounts will be reflected in the annual maintenance billing.

OutLink clients who participate in the JHA Get Smart program earn discounts on core processing services that will be reflected in the monthly billing statements beginning each July.

Discounts are calculated based on program points accrued during the annual certification period which begins each April. The minimum number of bank associates required for product-specific certifications and for participation in designated engagement activities is tiered based on bank asset size.

+ OPTIONAL COMPLEMENTARY CERTIFICATIONS • Complementary solution certifications/re-certifications can be obtained concurrently with core certifications. • Each complementary product certification requires two to six hours to complete. • Banks can elect to certify more associates than required for their asset size, but additional points will not be awarded. • Program points will not be awarded for certifications/re-certifications on complementary solutions not owned by participating banks. • Program points will be awarded for certifications/re-certifications on complementary solutions purchased but not implemented to-date. • Certification opportunities for additional complementary solutions may be added to the program each year.

+ ANNUAL RE-CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS• Annual core and complementary solution re-certifications are required to maintain program discounts.• Re-certification in the second year of the program requires participants to complete all: -Release training content and quizzes. -New training content and quizzes added to the initial certification curriculum. • Re-certification requirements only apply to program participants who earned the same initial core or complementary certification in the previous year. • Program participants completing initial certifications automatically had re-certification versions of the training in their transcripts on April 1, 2016.• If no new content was added to a specific course, re-certification will only require completing the quizzes. • Re-certifications must be completed in the current program year – April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017 – to maintain discounts. • The time required for re-certification will vary by product and by re-certification year.

+ ADDITIONAL PROGRAM DETAILS • Banks that did not participate in the JHA Get Smart program last year can enroll in the program at any time, and participants must complete the initial certification training. • The annual certification period will begin each April and includes a 12-month certification/re-certification period. • Each initial certification and re-certification course encompasses required testing that must be passed with a minimum score of 80%. • Certification course content that varies by core system or processing environment (in-house vs. OutLink) is clearly indicated in the certification training. • Each bank within a bank holding company must certify individually.• Program discounts for banks with core system maintenance billed at the holding company level will be applied proportionately to each individual bank based on asset size. • Certifications are available exclusively for bank employees and not for contractors or consultants supporting specific bank initiatives. • Bank associate certifications/re-certification that are current (obtained in the current program year) can be transferred to other Jack Henry Banking client banks if personnel changes occur.

• Program discounts for in-house banks are calculated based on annual core system maintenance fees.

• 14% is the maximum program discount available even if more than 20 points are accrued.

• Discounts will be rounded down for banks earning program points between point tiers. For example, a 12% discount will be provided for a bank earning 19 points.

• JHA Get Smart discounts cannot be combined with discounted multi-year maintenance agreements.

• JHA Get Smart discounts are available for all OutLink banking core clients.

• JHA Get Smart discounts do not apply to complementary solution maintenance fees or complementary solution processing services.

However, the JHA Get Smart curriculum and required testing are delivered through the convenient and familiar Jack Henry University, which also tracks certification and re-certification progress.

All participating banks receive quarterly summaries of their certification/re-certification status which are emailed to CEOs, key contacts, and training administrators.
