Unless otherwise directed by ATC, all circuits at Grand Central AD must be flown in a direction away from the FAOR CTR.

All Pinedene flights to obtain prior clearance from Waterkloof on 124.1 To remain below 6000ft on Waterkloof QNH by day and VFR flights only.

Eastbound – Join at N14/R55 intersection and route East to Pinedene station remaining clear of Zwartkops ATZ and the SA Mint. At Pinedene follow 5 rows of powerlines to exit at the Corobrick Factory remaining clear of Rietvlei Nature Reserve, exiting Waterkloof ATZ to the East on Kitty Hawk frequency 120.65

Westbound – Join at the Corobrick Factory remaining clear of Rietvlei Nature Reserve and route along 5 rows of powerlines to intersect Pinedene Station, then to the N14/R55 interchange remaining clear of SA Mint and Zwartkops ATZ EXITING Waterkloof ATZ to the West on Grand Central frequency 122.8

The Buffer Zone is situated within 3NM of the JHB CTR and it’s vertical limits are calculated from ground to 7500ft altitude. It extends from a point on the Rand ATZ, South & East of the JHB CTR to a point on the Waterkloof CTR. Traffic routing outside of the Buffer Zone while flying in the Special Rules Area, and routing from West to East or vice versa, need to identitfy the following landmarks as visual reference points which includes approximate distance outlining the boundary extremity of the Buffer Zone in order to remain clear of this airspace.

NOTE - Items 1 and 7 listed below indicate the beginning of the Buffer Zone which borders on the JHB CTR boundary extremity:1.
