Ji-Kabuki plays which convey the emotion of Edo

Bustling festival floats line up around the theatre, filled with liveliness before the performances. Once the play starts, the audience shouts “best in Japan!”, and multicolored offerings of money fly through the air. Then the actors and audience join together enveloping the theatre in a unified enthusiasm. During the intermis-sions the performers mingle with the local people eating lunches and drinking local sake while engaging in pleasant conversations. Ji-Kabuki performances still have the enthusiasm and elegance of the local people which remain unchanged since the Edo period.
