SECTION 1 SCOPE Intertek has conducted an evaluation for JIANGSU SPANL CO., LTD to determine the fire resistance characteristics of Insulated Metal Siding, specification of 370mm wide flat plate. This evaluation began on October 10, 2019 and was completed on November 08, 2019. The test was conducted on October 29, 2019. The test was conducted in accordance with CAN/ULC-S101-14, Standard Methods of Fire Endurance Tests of Building Construction and Materials, and ASTM E119-18ce1, Standard Test Methods for Fire Tests of Building Construction and Materials. This report does not constitute certification of this product nor an opinion or endorsement by this laboratory. SECTION 2 SUMMARY OF TEST RESULTS Wall System: Insulated Metal Siding CAN/ULC-S101 and ASTM E119 Test Results The assembly described and tested in this report met the Conditions of Acceptance when exposed to a fire-resistance rating of 60 minutes with a hose stream test. Test was conducted in accordance with the applicable requirement of CAN/ULC-S101-14, Standard Methods of Fire Endurance Tests of Building Construction and Materials, Section 8 Test of Non-Loadbearing Walls and Partitions, and ASTM E119-18ce1 Standard Test Methods for Fire Tests of Building Construction and Materials, Section 8.3 Tests of Non-Loadbearing Walls and Partitions. SECTION 4 MATERIAL SOURCE/INSTALLATION Test specimen was provided to Intertek directly by the client and was not independently selected for testing. Test specimen was received at the Evaluation Center on October 29, 2019. A description of component list of the test assembly is given in the table below. The description of the specimen is based on a survey of the specimen and information provided by the applicant. All values quoted below are nominal, unless tolerances are given.

The test assembly was constructed by the sponsor. 10 × 10ft light weight aerated concrete masonry unit partition with fully mortared joints was prepared in advance, six (6) pieces of 3000mm long square steel tubes were evenly, vertically distributed on the concrete masonry unit and one(1) piece of 3050mm long square steel tube was horizontal laid at the bottom of those square steel tubes fixed by using M14 screws with a spacing of 750mm. The Side End Cap were applied to the bottom and two outside vertical sides square steel tubes. Then Insulated Metal Siding was fixed on the steel tub with M14 screws a spacing of 500mm. Eight (8) pieces of 370mm wide x 3000mm long x 16mm thick and one (1) piece of 90mm wide x 3000mm long x 16mm thick Insulated Metal Sidings were spliced using tongue and groove joints. The Side End Cap was capped directly on the top. The sample ID number assigned by the test lab is S191010010SHF.001. SECTION 7 TEST PROCEDURE The unsymmetrical test wall assembly was installed in a moveable restraint frame. The test assembly was moved in front of the furnace for the fire exposure, and away from the furnace for the hose stream test. The unsymmetrical test wall assembly was built into a concrete masonry unit partition with fully mortared joints. The side with Insulated Metal Sidings was mounted facing to the furnace chamber. The nominal dimensions of the test wall were 10ft high and 10ft wide. After positioning the specimen over the furnace opening, the burners were ignited, and the timer was started. Temperatures within the furnace were monitored using thermocouples and the data was recorded. The burners were controlled to keep the furnace temperatures within the allowable limits specified in the test standards. The neutral-pressure-plane was controlled by pressure transducers that adjust the opening of the exhaust damper. After 5 minutes, the furnace pressure was adjusted so that neutral-pressure-plane inside the furnace is established at 1016mm (40 inch) below the top of the test wall. The fire exposure tests were conducted under non-loadbearing conditions and were then submitted to the ASTM E2226 hose stream test under non-loadbearing conditions. After the 60-minute fire exposure tests a 30 psi water pressure hose stream was and applied for 62 seconds to the exposed surfaces per the requirements of ASTM E2226. Position for measurement of deflection and unexposed temperature was presented in the drawing of Section 8. The test measurement data and photographs were shown in Section 13 and 14 respectively. When the indicated resistance period is ½ h or over, determined by the average or maximum temperature rise on the unexposed or maximum temperature rise on the unexposed surface or within the test specimen, or by failure under load, a correction shall be applied for variation of the furnace exposure from that prescribed, where it will affect the classification, by multiplying the indicated period by two thirds of the difference in area between the curve of average furnace temperature and the standard curve for the first three fourths of the period and dividing the product by the area between the standard curve and a base line of 68°F for the same part of the indicated period, the latter area increased by 54°F*h (3240°F*min) to compensate for the thermal lag of the furnace thermocouples during the first part of the test. For fire exposure in the test higher than the standard, the indicated resistance period shall be increased by the amount of the correction and be similarly decreased for fire exposure below standard. The correction can be expressed by the following equation:

where: C=correction in the same units as I, I=indicated fire-resistance period, A=area under the curve of indicated average furnace temperature for the first three fourths of the indicated period, As=area under the standard furnace curve for the same part of the indicated period, and L=lag correction in the same units as A and AS (54°F*h or 30°C*h (3240°F*min or 1800°C*min)) SECTION 8 TEST SPECIMEN INSTRUMENTATION Nine 18-gauge, Type K thermocouples were covered by 6 in. by 6 in. by 0.4 in. thick dry felt pads and positioned on the unexposed surfaces of the specimens to measure heat transmission. Five of these were symmetrically disposed, one at approximately the center of the specimen and four at approximately the center of its quarter sections. The other four were to be located at the discretion of the testing body to obtain representative information on the performance of the construction under test.

Note: The standard specifies that the fire resistance shall be determined to the nearest integral minute. SECTION 10 CONCLUSION Intertek Building & Construction (B&C) was has conducted testing for JIANGSU SPANL CO., LTD on their Insulated Metal Siding, to evaluate its fire resistance. Testing was conducted in accordance with the applicable criteria and following the standard methods of CAN/ULC-S101-14 and ASTM E119-18ce1. Base on the result of this test, the Insulated Metal Siding described herein met the Conditions of Acceptance of CAN/ULC-S101-14 and ASTM E119-18ce1 when exposed to a fire-resistance rating of 60 minutes with a hose stream test.
