to the contamination levels included

in Annex A of EI 1598 2nd edition.

However, relating such

responses/changes to absolute

values for the contaminants,

robustly/reliably over time for every

application, is virtually impossible”

wishing to evaluate sensors (EI 1598)

A4A/EI/IATA/JIG workshop with airlines, 17 May,

endorsed alternative approach - use of a simple

‘water probe’ in vehicle pipework (upstream

of filter) to detect bulk water contamination

EI funding testing of a selection of probes to

establish whether they are robust, suitable for

turbulent systems and do not give false alarms

HM20 Proving of aviation fuelling positive

displacement meters, 2nd edition. Due 4Q 2012.

- New section on electronic meter heads which

includes a process for auto-calibrate functionality

- Introduces a simplified low flow overwing meter

process/methodology for meter calibration.

i.e. location and type of valves, temperature

probes and pressure gauges, etc

Emphasis is on issues upstream of airports that

could impact product quality (primarily jet fuel)

The publication includes mandatory language to

facilitate (self-)compliance assessment
