Capgemini Australia Pty Ltd Disengagement and Migration services (Sydney, NSW): I am presently working for two different customers who are local government bodies in NSW, AU. My role is to manage migration of their existing business applications and databases from Telstra private cloud to their in-house data center and AWS private cloud respectively. The tasks involved are rebuilding of applications and databases in new data center/Cloud using the backup from existing data center and replacing some of the old technologies with best of breed Oracle Fusion Middleware products. For example, the Oracle 10g Portal solution is replaced with Oracle Access Management 11g, Oracle Discoverer 10g is replaced with Oracle Business Intelligence Applications.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Design and Implementation of activities for the migration of environments.

Documenting technical processes and procedures, providing training to team members for successful execution of activities and ensuring on time deliverables.

Working closely with developers in order to redesign the old Oracle Interconnect 10g integration processes using Oracle Service Bus.

Managing customer expectations by organizing regular project status meetings, to capture key milestones, highlight risks and continuous planning for the cutover.

Migration of file based Oracle databases on RedHat Enterprise Linux to Oracle Database Appliance using ASM. Migration and rebuild of Oracle and non-Oracle based applications/middleware from VMware virtualization to a mix of Oracle Virtual Machine and Hyper-V.
