Our Service Offerings

JJ&A Venture Search offers its clients three “products”, which provide growth companies the most comprehensive and cost-effective solution to the challenge of attracting and securing top talent.

Retained Search: For VP and C-level assignments, we work on a retained basis where a Partner leads the work, and in many cases has another Partner engaged, and always with a support team. We do these on a fixed fee basis. Clients meet the step-up candidate with tremendous potential as well as the encore performer who’s been there and done it. The bottom line is we have successfully completed >98% of the retained searches we have taken on and 100% of our work is reference-able. All retained searches come with a full, one-year replacement guarantee.

Exclusive/Container: We also offer a hybrid service where we take on assignments on an exclusive basis typically for critical hires at the director/manager/lead individual contributor level. The fee may have a reasonable initial retainer, but is more typically success-based and is typically 20-25% of first year’s cash compensation. The replacement guarantee is 6 months. Since we take on the risk of filling the assignment we will own it exclusively for a pre-agreed upon period (usually 30 days).

Contingency: Finally, we leverage the research, packaging and knowledge we have gained by working on retained and exclusive assignments with our clients to take on the individual contributor roles and work on them on a success-based fee (typically 20%) with a 90 day replacement guarantee.

§   Partner Sam Merchant runs JJA’s Technical Staffing Practice working with clients on a contingency basis to successfully fill Engineering and Development roles as well as Engineering & Data Analytics Management as well as Product, Program and Project Management roles
