Item Description

Summary Creates a table that summarizes columns from the active table.

Subset Produces a subset table of the active data table.

Sort Sorts a data table by one or more columns.

Stack Stacks specified columns into a single new column in a new data table.

Split Splits one or more columns to form multiple columns in a new data table.

TransposeSwitches rows and columns so a new data table’s rows are the original table’s columns and the columns are the original table’s rows.

Concatenate Appends two or more tables end-to-end in a new data table.

Join Joins two tables side-by-side into a new table.

Item DescriptionExclude/Unexclude

Excludes/includes selected rows from analyses.

Hide/Unhide Suppresses/shows points in all plots.

Label/Unlabel Labels/unlabels points on all plots.

Colors Changes selected points in all plots to a specified color.

Markers

Changes points in scatterplots and spinning plots from standard points to character symbols.

Next SelectedLocates and flashes the first selected row after the current row.

Previous Selected

Locates and flashes the first selected row before the current row.

Row Selection Selects a subset of rows based on a condition.

Clear Row States

Clears all active row states in the data table.

Color or Mark by Column...

Lets you choose a column to color or lets you mark all rows based on their values.

Row Editor Shows and allows editing of information for each row.

Add Rows... Lets you specify how many rows to add and where.

Move Rows... Moves highlighted rows to a specified location.

Delete Rows Removes all selected rows.

Item DescriptionNew Column...

Lets you add a new column, name it, and provide characteristics.

Add Multiple Columns...

Adds several similar columns at once.

Column Info...

Displays and allows you to change column name, characteristics, and properties.

Formula... Shows the column’s formula editor window.

Preselect Role

Assigns a role to the selected column and saves the role with the data table.

Validation Places restrictions on the values that a column can hold.

Label/Unlabel

Tells JMP to use/not use the selected column’s values to identify points in plots.

Scroll Lock/Unlock

Locks/unlocks the highlighted column into/from the left-most position.

Hide/Unhide

Suppresses/shows selected columns without removing them from the table.

Exclude/Unexclude

Excludes/includes a column (as a variable) in analysis role assignment dialogs.

Standardize Attributes

Lets you set attributes for multiple columns at once

Item DescriptionCustom Design

Allows you to specify and create optimal designed experiments.

Screening Design

Creates a screening design you choose from the list. Bases the design on continuous factors and 2- and 3- level categorical factors.

Response Surface Design

Creates a response surface design you choose from the list. Bases the design on a number of continuous factors you specify.

Full Factorial Design

Creates a design using combinations of specified sets of continuous and categorical factors with arbitrary numbers of levels.

Taguchi Arrays

Lets you choose inner and outer array designs to construct a Taguchi experiment.

Mixture Design

Constructs experiments when the factors are ingredients in a mixture.

Augment Design Adds runs to an existing design.

Sample Size and Power

Computes power, sample size, and effect size.

Item Description

DistributionProvides a distribution of values with histograms and other graphical and text reports.

Fit Y by X Shows plots with analyses for pairs of X and Y variables.

Matched Pairs

Analyzes variables that form a pair of measurements coming from the same experimental unit or subject.

Fit Model Fits one or more Y variables to multiple X variables using linear models.

Modeling Offers nonlinear models, partitions, neural nets, and time series analyses.

Multivariate Methods

Explores how variables relate and how points fit that relationship through multivariate fitting, clustering methods, discriminant analysis, and PLS.

Survival and Reliability

Lets you analyze survival and reliability data using a product-limit life table, regression analyses, and recurrence analyses.

Item DescriptionChart Gives a chart for every Y variable specified.

Overlay Plot Overlays a plot of a single column and all Y variables.
