“The sustainable development can only achieve through extensive

plantation on mother earth. Hence it is urgent responsibility of

every human being to engage him/her self in planting a few

saplings and to protect them until survive”, Prof. M.L.S.Deva

Kumar, Principal of JNTUACEK stressed. As part of annual ‘VANA

MAHOTSAVAM’ programme, the Hostel employees, staff and

students joined in mass plantation programme infront of Girls

Hostel in JNTUACE, Kalikiri campus on 27th August, 2021. The

programme started with opening remarks of the Principal and

formal “prakrithi puja” by Prof.C.Subhas Vice Principal, followed

by plantation programme by all staff, hostel employees and NSS

student volunteers. During his speech Prof. Deva Kumar

appreciated the hostel team and NSS team for taking steps for

planting trees of best species infront of Girls Hostel. He advised

the students to take care of their survival and growth, so that by

the time they complete the course, the plants shall become in to

grown up trees. The plants will give fruits for healthier living of

human being and gives abundant oxyzen, which is very essential

for survival of man on the earth, He motivated and quoted, even if

own children fail to lookafter the parents, plants gives great

support for livelihood of people. During the programme students

demonstrated need of the plantation and displayed placards

messages like, ‘EACH ONE PLANT ONE’, ‘TREES ON GLOBAL

WARMING OFF’. During speech be vice principal, Prof.C.Subhas

said that, Trees control climate by moderating the effects of sun,

rain and wind. They also lower the air temperature and reduce the

heat intensity of the greenhouse effect by maintaining low levels of

carbon dioxide.

Trees have supported and sustained life throughout our existence.

They have a wide range of practical and commercial uses. Even

just a view of trees can help to reduce stress and anxiety. Trees are

important for physical and mental wellness.

The programme is coordinated by hostel employees under

leadership of Dr.K.Aparna Officer Incharge of Hostels,

Mr.C.Ramesh Sr.Asst, Mr.M.D.Nagabhusanam Supt., and NSS

Team under piercing head of Dr.N.Saritha NSS Programme Officer,

Mr. Rajendra Prasad Faculty Member. Dr.V.Nagaprasad Naidu

HMED, Mr.Murali Mohan Rao Asst. Registrar, Mr. Murali Krishna

Supt., Deputy Wardens, NSS volunteers and hostel employees are

among who participated.

Mr. Venkata Ramana Reddy Local Farmer and Mr.Ganapathi Mess

Vendor who aided the programme were also present and they

promised further to provide drip irrigation for 100% survival of the

saplings. The programme ended with NSS clap, the rich tradition

of NSS volunteers and refreshments.
