Part 1: What is the process?

• The initial PDQ was developed by District employees.

• That PDQ has been reviewed for consistency between participants.

• That PDQ has been reviewed for consistency with other districts for similar activities.

• District Human Resources has performed an initial review.

• You are provided with an opportunity to ensure accuracy.

• The results will be used to prepare Job Descriptions for the District.

Part 2: PDQ and Job Description

• The PDQ is used to obtain facts for the Job Description.• How many participants, activities, events, people, etc.• Responsibilities, working conditions, and other factors.

• In many respects Job Descriptions are less specific than PDQ’s.

• Job Descriptions identify the minimum requirements and establish extent of District liabilities.

Co/Extra-Curricular PDQ: The Co/Extra-Curricular PDQ is designed to:

• Account for only activities/responsibilities of the co/extra-curricular position.

Please do not overlap your normal duties into this position. (This distinction is sometimes difficult where the extra-curricular position is essentially an extension of the normal appointment.)

• Account for the level of effort that the District has committed to for this activity.

Many of us become very passionate about our work and mission and raise the level of expectation beyond that of the District.

Part 3: What are you to do?1. Review:

As with any questionnaire process, possibility of mis-interpretation exists. Your review is valuable to ensure that such occasions are minimized.

• You will receive an email with “Credentials” to view your PDQ using the Internet.• Use the link that is provided (pdq-id and password).• Click on the link to see a copy of your PDQ.• Print a copy.• You may make changes on the copy and fax it to 608-233-4090. Please write legibly.• You may make minor changes in the entry form on the screen. (BE SURE to SUBMIT YOUR

ENTRIES.)

2. Adjust:

Here the matter becomes somewhat like getting a bill through Congress, except we need to do this economically.

If your instruction email states you are the only “incumbent”, you may make corrections without coordinating with others.

If your instruction email states there are several of you, then the matter becomes one of obtaining agreement with the others in the same position.

Part 3: What are you to do?

3. Confirm:

A positive indication is required from you that you have seen the PDQ and either concur or have some modifications. Please send an email to [email protected]

If your PDQ has several of you with the same PDQ, then the matter becomes one of obtaining agreement. While it would be preferable to have concurrence from all in the position, only one will suffice.
