Mount the Platform Support Assembly with one screw in the left end of the channel. Support the right end of the channel with the 5 ton dome crane. Position it so that it is level and its bottom edge is parallel with top of the center section.

3. Transfer-punch the two lower holes and match mark the 2 upper holes. Remove the 0270 from the telescope.

4. Lift the magnetic base drill using the 5 Ton dome crane. Drill and tap the remaining 4 holes in the center section.

5. Reinstall the 0270 on the telescope center section.

6. Install the South Support Leg (2100-ME-040-0283) that is shown in Figure 3 onto the 2100-ME-040-0271 as shown in Figure 4.

Choker a 5 ft. sling around the top ring on the ladder portion of 0271. Lift it over the small platform on the cass ramp. Roughly center it on the small platform.

Transfer punch the 3 mounting holes on the cass ramp. Move the 0271 away from the platform and drill three ½ in clearance holes. Counter sink the holes to accept flat head bolts.

9. Mount the 0271 assembly on to the platform and adjust the leveling screws until the platform is level.

Lift the Main Frame (2100-ME-040-0296) as shown in Figure 5 with the 5 Ton dome crane. Position the frame over the 2 ends just installed.

11. Install 1 bolt in either end. Install the “L” Angle brackets (2100-ME-040-0288).

12. The 0296 may have to be lifted to drill and tap the ½-13 in mounting holes.

Lower the 0296 back onto the end frames. Loosely install the mounting bolts for both ends. Once all the bolts are in the mounting holes, the bolts can be tightened.

15. Assemble the West Handrail per Figure 6. FB, SB, TH

Lift the hand rail assembly over the platform using the 5 Ton dome crane. Center it on the West rail and transfer-punch the mounting holes.

17. Move the handrails to the West to allow clearance to drill the mounting holes.

18. Drill the holes with a 15/32 in drill. Mount the rail using McMaster-Carr 94077A205 self-tapping screws.

19. Assemble the South handrail with the West vertical being 38-7/8 in long and the East vertical being 39-3/8 in long.

20. Attach the McMaster-Carr self-closing door (4073K15) as shown in Figure 7.

21. Drill the 2 holes in the rail with 15/32 in drill. Drill the 4 holes in the plywood with a ¼ pilot drill.
