JobsIreland Registration Guide for Candidates
JobsIreland is a no-cost job advertising and recruitment service provided by the Department of
Employment Affairs and Social Protection to Employers and Candidates.
When you register and complete your profile you will be able to search for, be matched to, and apply for
vacancies.
You will also be able to download your profile and use it as a CV.
Employers will have sight of your profile when you are matched to or apply for their vacancies.
Steps to completing a profile on JobsIreland:
Go to the web site www.jobsireland.ie
Click on Register in the top right corner of the screen
Click on Sign Up As A Jobseeker
Click on Register Here
You will be brought to MyGovID to create a basic, secure account. To do this all you need is an email
address. If you don’t have an email address you can create a free account online (e.g. Gmail, Hotmail).
Complete the form below

The email address you record here & the password you create will also be used as your login
name and your password on JobsIreland
Click ‘Register Now’ and you will be sent a verification code to the email address entered
Enter the verification code received in the box below
Click Confirm Code
Click ‘I Agree’ on the screen below to proceed

Click on JobsIreland from the screen below and this will bring you to the login page
Click Login here and you will be brought to the profile form

You must complete the profile to 100% before you can view and apply for vacancies.
You may scroll down to “save as draft” and logout if you wish to complete the form at another time.
Fields that must be completed are shown with a *.
If you have any problems you can view the FAQs under About Us on the homepage www.jobsireland.ie
You may also ring/email our National Contact Centre for assistance – details under Contact Us on the
homepage.

You can scroll to the end of the form and click Save as draft at any time. When you login again the email
address & password you created in MyGovID become your username and password on JobsIreland.
Completing your Profile
Any field that must have information is displayed with a * (Mandatory Field)
Personal Details:
Input your personal details and scroll to the next section
Remember you can scroll to the bottom and Save as Draft at any time!

Click Yes or No on each option below (No is pre-selected but you can change that by clicking Yes)
If you are in receipt of a payment from the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection:
Tick Yes and enter the details required
PPSN – your personal public service number
Date of Birth
Local DSP Office – choose the office that you attend for appointments
Payment Type – choose the payment type that you receive (e.g. Jobseeker’s Allowance)

Work History:
In this section the Personal Statement text box must be completed but the work history is optional.
If you have work history, complete both the Personal Statement and the form. The information you enter
in the Personal Statement box is the first thing an Employer sees when you are matched to, or apply to,
their vacancies.
Job Title – the name of the role you held
Company Name – who you worked for
Category – type the first letters of the job held (e.g. Labourer, Sales Assistant, Chef) and choose the
closest match from the list displayed

To add additional work history experiences click
If you do not have work history, please complete the Personal Statement. The information you enter in the
Personal Statement box is the first thing an Employer sees when you are matched to, or apply to, their
vacancies.
Your Personal Statement is like a marketing pitch, it may influence an Employer’s decision about your
suitability for their vacancy. Take time when completing this section and make sure there are no typing
errors!
Qualifications:
If you have achieved any certification, choose the level from the dropdown and complete the other fields.
Choose the level
Input the
o qualification title (e.g. Leaving Certificate),
o dates of study,
o institute where you studied,
o any subjects in which you specialised

To add additional awards, click
Additional & Other Skills:
Here you may record other certified skills (e.g. Safepass) and skills not recorded in qualifications.
Click the dropdown and choose the award
Click to record more than one item from the dropdown list
Input any other skills you have that are not recorded already (e.g. ECDL or Manual Handling) in the
box below.

Driving Licences & Languages
If you have driving licences and/or additional language skills, record them here.
Click the + buttons to choose from the dropdown lists available
You may record multiple licences and/or languages.
Click on the bin on the right to delete if you make a mistake

Abilities & Competencies:
Here you must choose at least two items from each list but you may select up to four items in each list.
Tick the box beside the skills you believe are your strongest
Career Opportunity Sought:
If you wish to change career direction or have no work history in the career of interest you record that
here. You must input a job category and choose a career level.
Click and choose from the list, the career level you believe matches your experience
Type the first letters of the job of most interest (e.g. Electrician, Accountant) and choose the closest
match from the list displayed

You have now reached the end of the profile form, congratulations!
Click Save and Publish your profile to preview the details
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click Submit to publish your profile on JobsIreland
You may now view and apply for vacancies immediately.
Subscribe to Notifications:
If you would like to receive an email when new vacancies are published, or when new vacancies that match
your skills/qualifications/experience are published, subscribe to the service. You can opt-out at any time.
Click on Settings
Tick the options that are of interest to you
Select the frequency
Click Update my notifications settings
You will receive an email each day/week as selected. You may also opt-out of the service by choosing the
option in the email you receive.
