.NET Developer Role Outline To join an experienced programming team working on applications for Media and Commercial

Publishing. You will work in a team to help shape the current and future direction of our core

products. Designing, implementing and testing new products and features to a very high standard.

Qualification Requirements Educated to degree level in a subject related to Computer Science or Information Technology.

A minimum of 3 years commercial experience of programming with .NET, producing polished

commercial applications.

Skills and Requirements We are looking for people who have a passion for technology. You will be used to working on

projects with a growing team, and have extensive experience building and testing Web applications

in an Agile Scrum environment.

We expect to see some of the following skills and experience:

• Good understanding of object-oriented design and data structures

• Good problem solving and complexity analysis skills

• Good attention to detail

• Proficient in the following programming languages: C#, Javascript, HTML5

• Experience of frameworks such as .NET

• Experience with relational databases, especially SQL Server 2008 or above, ability to write

responsive stored procedures would be an advantage

• Experience with the SVN, or similar

• A desire to write readable, maintainable, modular and extendable code

• Experience in full development life cycle; design, coding, test, build, QA deployment and

maintenance

• Experience in an Agile Scrum environment and an understanding of these principles

• Solid commercial development experience in enterprise level applications

• A strong team player with the ability to problem solve with peers and work towards a

common goal

• Demonstrate ability to self-manage, be proactive, take ownership, build relationships and

drive solutions through from inception to production

• Experience with writing unit tests and integration tests using Visual Studio’s Quality Tools

framework

• Excellent written and spoken communication skills

Responsibilities • Attend daily stand-up meetings, sprint retrospectives and planning meetings

• Analysing user requirements; considering existing system features and functionality and

deciding how best to achieve the desired results

• Document your work on completion

• Test the output of your peers and suggest improvements where necessary

• Design new features for enterprise-class Web applications

• Coordinate and collaborate with the product team on the full product technology stack

• Employ regular performance testing practices with a particular focus on high availability and

scalability

• Assist support / delivery team with customer issues and change requests, where required

• Collaborate regularly and professionally with other development team members and

product owners of the company
