ACROSS THE LANDS CORPORATE CONFESSION

O Father, we are gathered before You, the Maker of heaven and earth, whose chosen dwelling place is with the broken and contrite, to confess that we have sinned in thought and word and deed; we have not loved You with all our heart and soul, we have not loved You with all our mind and strength; we have not even loved our neighbor as ourselves. In Your mercy, deepen our sorrow for the wrong we have done and for the good we have left undone, so that we may hate our sin with a holy hatred. But, please, Father, do not leave us in sorrow. With You, O Lord, there is forgiveness. In Your mercy, restore the joy of our salvation; so that we may love You with a holy love.

SILENT CONFESSION THE LORD ’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

We confess our sins knowing that in Christ by his Spirit we have spiritual freedom from the bondage we once knew. God is transforming us into new men and women. God’s Word says, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all with unveiled faces, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” Thanks be to God for his grace that transforms everything about us.

DECLARATION OF FAITH APOSTLE’S CREED

I believe in God the Father Almighty,

Maker of heaven and earth:

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;

who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

born of the virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, dead, and buried.

He descended into hell1;

the third day He rose again from the dead;

He ascended into heaven,
