Highly Maneuverable SugarCane HarvesterAfter decades of successful performance in large scale harvesting,John Deere is proud to introduce the highly maneuverable CH330designed to operate in small sugar cane fields with narrow rowspacing, limited headlands, and heavy crop yield.

Our Engineers used the experience with the latest 3520 harvesterand improved many of its functions and components making thenew unit even better in several areas.

Its unique patented 45 degree articulated frame steering systemallows for the quickest turnaround in areas not fully prepared formechanization. With crop dividers and topper pivoting with thetires, the CH330 can start harvesting as soon as the front section isinside the field increasing operational efficiency while a conven-tional harvester requires additional time to fully align with the row.

Harvesting and traveling betweenfields is made simple with the hydro-static propulsion system that lets theoperator vary the speed infinitely inthree “shift-on-the-go” ranges.Inherent to the system is the hydro-static dynamic braking with instantstopping response.

Light & Extremely RobustAluminum ElevatorThe CH330 is introducing a new elevator concept that will revolu-tionize the industry. It combines a sturdy aluminum constructionthat guarantees durability with ultra light weight that improvesharvester stability.

The folding frame with the ability to unload in any position allowsthe use of wagons and other transport equipment of differentheights.

The floor is perforated to continuously remove dirt and with thehydraulic adjustable flap the operator can evenly load the wagon.

The slats are tall to handle heavy cane flow and reversible toincrease life.

Variable unloading height facilitates the use of a wide range of transport equipment.

High ToppingThe CH330 uses the proven 3520topper design. The collecting drumsefficiently gather the tops beforethey are cut. A nitrogen accumula-tor protects the structure from highimpacts in rough field conditions.

Exclusive John Deere crop divider knock-down-rollers arestandard to help guide long-wrapping cane and preventbuild-up at the top of the scrolls.

The adjustable large diameter lower knock-down rollerhelps to feed the cane into the basecutter.

Wide Throat toHandle Heavy CaneThe crop dividers gently lift lodged cane fromthe ground and are widely spaced to offer alarge throat to accommodate high-densitycrop. The narrow scrolls easily fit in thereduced row spacing.

Available Features forthe Heaviest CaneOptional outer scrolls and side knives will facilitatehandling even heavier lodge cane.

The outside scrolls rotate in the opposite direction ofthe inside scrolls to push the cane of the adjacent rowaway from the machine. Stalks that are not separatedupon reaching the side knives are cut before the har-vester pulls them from the ground.

A front knockdown roller withhydraulically controlled tilt is alsoavailable to facilitate feeding.

Proven 3520 BasecutterWide DesignThe basecutter opening is practically the same as the highcapacity 3520 allowing heavy cane to pass through withoutobstruction. Each large disc is equipped with 5 easily replaceableblades that ensure a clean cut with minimal stubble damage.

Selectable height positions and cutting angles will adapt to mostrow profiles.

The gear box is driven by two hydraulic piston motors for bal-ance and increased torque.

The buttlifter and the first upper roller are mounted on thebasecutter frame providing an optimum relationship with base-cutter disks at all height positions (patent pending).

Clean Efficient CropFeeding & HighQuality BilletsThe feed roller path is straight, and opens wide toreduce cane breakage, and improve feeding to thechopper. Large, deep-paddle, lower rollers improvethe release of dirt and mud.

Access for maintenance is easy with externallymounted bearings and bolt-on cradle stops, withrubber shock-absorber pads.

The heavy duty 6 blade differential chopper han-dles the heaviest cane, sharply cutting the stalksinto even billets, preparing them for the cleaningchamber.

Optimized CleaningSystemThe large cleaning chamber has been designedto deliver the cleanest cane with minimumlosses. It uses low fan speeds to keep powerand fuel consumption to the lowest levels.

The self-balanced 4 blade fan is mounted directly tothe motor shaft to reduce maintenance and vibrationwhich extends the life of the components.

With touch-screen technology it is simple tomake quick adjustments to critical controls.Supervisors can lock important settings tomaintain quality and uniformity of the oper-ation, save fuel, and protect assets.

“Smart Mode” is available to automaticallyreduce the extractor speed to a preset mini-mum when the elevator is turned off. Theelevator speed can be adjusted to matchvarying crop conditions to prolong chainand elevator life.

Diagnostic Trouble Codes are displayed astext alerting the operator of a possible mal-function.

Proven, Powerful & FuelEfficient Engine andHydraulicsReliable, powerful, and easy on fuel, the John Deere 6068 HT, 6.8 literengine was designed specifically for agricultural applications includingthe demanding harsh conditions of the sugar cane world. Its durabilityhas been proven through years of operations in thousands of other JohnDeere products.

The radiator, oil cooler and other heat rejection components of the cool-ing package are located away from the engine in a cleaner area to reducemaintenance. It features a self cleaning reversible fan that cycles auto-matically to remove trash, maintain all circuits and components at opti-mum temperature and eliminate the need for regular service stops.

Until now, the 3520 hydraulic system was the most advanced and reli-able system in the world. The CH330 is even better, designed with effi-ciency levels never seen before. The result is a powerful yet most fuelefficient hydraulic system in a sugar cane harvester. There are no direc-tional valves or spool flow dividers on motor circuits minimizing powerloss and heat generation. All cylinder functions, including steering, areoperated by pressure compensated pumps that deliver oil flow onlywhen required. Additionally, the system is protected from contaminationwith internal filters that typically require replacement only once a sea-son. Furthermore, unit lift and topper circuits are cushioned from highimpact with nitrogen accumulators.
