At my current position as a Senior iOS Developer for Great American Insurance Group, I have helped create new features, maintain, and provide updates to the existing mobile applications for the Crop Insurance Department. On my spare time I have been able to release projects that are 100% my own: Coffee 101 & Planning Poker 101. These applications showcase more of my creative side and combine my passion for iOS development and aspects of my everyday life. Coffee 101 uses Push Notifications to update and engage users – along with Firebase Analytics to track which aspects of the application are being used and which portions should receive the most attention for future updates. Using Sketch – I was able to create all icons and images used in both of these applications which have high-resolution images that scale from the original iPhone SE to the new 4th Generation iPad Pro 12.9. In closing, I believe I would be a great asset to your team. I would like to thank you for your consideration for this vacancy and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely, John Ryles

To Whom It May Concern:

Please find enclosed my resume for the position currently advertised for your company. I believe I am well-matched and qualified for this position based off my 10+ years of native mobile developing experience and extensive knowledge of the desired skills for this position.

In December of 2013, I graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. The program was intensive and allowed me to draw on knowledge and skills from a wide variety of Computer Science disciplines to help define, shape, and prepare me for my professional career.

At my current position as a Senior iOS Developer for Great American Insurance Group, I have helped create new features, maintain, and provide updates to the existing mobile applications for the Crop Insurance Department. I added Location Services, Weather Tracking, Apple Business Chat, new app icons, converted Cocoa Pod dependencies to native (in-house) Swift Packages, along with converting legacy Objective-C code to Swift.

On my spare time I have been able to release projects that are 100% my own: Coffee 101 & Planning Poker 101. These applications showcase more of my creative side and combine my passion for iOS development and aspects of my everyday life. Planning Poker is fully written in SwiftUI and provides an invaluable tool to Agile Teams across the world.

Sincerely,

John Ryles
