I am an appointed committee member to a state Executive‐branch commission that sets priorities of funding for criminal justice and mental health expenditures for the state, overseeing the disbursement of approximately $5,000,000 in grants. In addition to core MHJAC activities I work closely with other members of the Commission and other Commission Advisory Committees on issues relating to violent victimization of people with mental illness.

2013‐2015 Consultant, Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services, Region 6. Independent consultant on resolving conflicts between mental health and criminal justice systems, including training and facilitated discussion between regional leadership and providers of mental health, law enforcement, and criminal justice services.

2014 Advisor, Joint State Government Commission, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Advised JSGC – the research and advisory department of the Pennsylvania Legislature – staff on mental health law issues during development of their report, “Mental Health Services and the Criminal Justice System in Pennsylvania.”
