JOHOR BAHRU CHINESE HERITAGE MUSEUM Johor Bahru Chinese Heritage Museum is housed in a restored four-storey shoplot, belonging to prominent merchant Quok Keng Kang. The building was converted into the Chinese General Association during the Japanese Occupation in 1942, before it was renamed the Johor Bahru Tiong-Hua Association (JBTHA) in 1948. MUZIUM TOKOH JOHOR Muzium Tokoh gives an insight on the illustrious list of Johor’s leaders and dignitaries, especially the Royal Family of Johor. Visitors can view a range of artefacts such as the royal lineage and activities of the royalties. Housed in the Dato’ Jaafar Building, the museum has a long history dating back to 1893. It was the official residence of the first Chief Minister of Johor, the late Dato’ Jaafar bin Muhammad. SULTAN ABU BAKAR MOSQUEJohor BahruBuilt in 1892, this beautiful mosque is situated on a hill overlooking the Straits of Tebrau. Its design is influenced by Victorian and Mughal Indian architecture. Simple ornamentation on the arches resemble the Indian Man Mandir Palace in Gwalior, India, while the twin columns at the façade depict the Victorian architecture. The main prayer hall is rectangular in shape with a five-ridge roof known as ‘bumbung perabung’. This mosque was commissioned by the late Sultan Abu Bakar, who was famed as the ‘Father of Modern Johor’. Visitors are advised to dress modestly while visiting the mosque area.

By AirApart from Kuala Lumpur and other parts of the peninsula, Johor is also accessible from Sabah and Sarawak by air. You can fly to Johor from several destinations in Malaysia Senai International Airport is situated 32 km from Johor Bahru.
By RoadJohor Bahru is 330 km or a four-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur via the North-South Expressway. Both the Johor-Singapore Causeway and the Second Link Expressway connect Singapore to Johor as well as the rest of the peninsula. Bus services to Johor from major cities and towns in the peninsula are available throughout the day. Tickets must be purchased early during peak seasons.
By RailKeretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) or the national railwayconnects Johor to other states in the peninsula and also Singapore. JB Sentral Railway Station is the most southern station in the country. Other stations include Kempas Baru, Kluang, Kulai, Labis, Paloh, Renggam and Segamat.
By SeaTanjung Belungkor is the entrance point from Singapore by ferry. Ferry services are also available from Batam and Tanjung Pinang in Indonesia to Johor Bahru International Ferry Terminal.
You can get a taxi at the Larkin Taxi Station, bus stations, hotels and shopping complexes. It is advisable to request that the taxi meter be switched on or agree on the fare before you begin the ride. Alternatively, you can rent a car from car rental companies at the airport and bus stations. E-hailing services are also available in Malaysia.
