Join NHS 111You could make all the difference
NHS 111 is a free, non-emergency healthcare service available over the phone1.
The service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, across England, so that people can access non-emergency services when they need medical help fast.
How does it work?
Patients and members of the public call 111 with non-emergency healthcare needs. Calls are assessed by fully trained advisors who are supported by a range of healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, paramedics and pharmacists.
To make sure people get treated in the right place at the right time and reduce pressure on hospitals, NHS 111 and out-of-hours services all work together to provide what’s called Integrated Urgent Care.
People can now access all urgent care services using one number – 111. So, advisors can refer callers to a local service or organise an ambulance immediately, if necessary. Also, where appropriate, callers can have a telephone consultation and assessment with a senior, experienced healthcare professional.
