In the event that it rains, Mass will be held under the tent.
God, our heavenly Father, You give to each the ability to share Your generative love.
Bless those women in our lives who mirror Your love and bring forth life through their willingness
to risk bringing new life into this world.
Help us to show them our gratitude for the gift of life and the gift of a mother's love.
May our life-giving God continue to bless them and show them His unfailing love.
We ask this through Jesus, God's Son and our brother.
Amen.

3WEEKLY PARISH BULLETIN - May 9, 2021
…”Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God; everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God. Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love.” Our second reading, on this Sixth Sunday of Easter, is a soul-stirring reflection for each of us. All we need to do is look in the mirror…reflect on our actions…and we can see where we are at with God. God is love. If we love others, it’s a clear sign that God’s love is alive in our hearts and our lives. We are called to ALIVE in Christ…filled with His love…sharing His love with others. It’s a hard reflection because our actions reveal where we are at with God. God is love, and with His love should be seen in the way we live and love one another. Let His love be alive in your heart. Alive in Christ is who we are…what we do…and how we live. …This weekend we celebrate and honor our mothers, godmother, and grandmothers. For so many, our moms put a face on the tender, generous love of God for us. They loved us with God’s love because God’s love was in their hearts. Take some time today to honor, celebrate and remember your mom/grandmothers/godmother. Reflect on their love and their goodness. Happy Mother’s Day! This year we have a very special book of Marian prayers. Please take one home for yourself/moms. As we celebrate our moms, we look to the mother of Jesus as an example of love and faith. We also have beautiful prayer cards available for you. Take one home and put it in a place to help you remember to keep your mom/grandmother/godmother in prayer. …I wish you could all sit in the parking lot on the first Monday of the month – Mercy Monday. All day long, and especially from 4:30 to 6 pm, you can SEE the outpouring of God’s love in the food that is brought and dropped off for those in need and for our PB&J brigade. God bless
you for your goodness and thoughtfulness. Someone asked the other day, “do you still need Peanut Butter and Jelly” – Absolutely. “Can we bring them any time” – Absolutely. “Are ‘snacks’ still needed for the 2600 lunches going out” – Absolutely!!!…This month of May is dedicated to Mary. Our parish music ministry will present a beautiful concert on Friday, May 14 at 7 pm (both in person and virtually). Come allow these songs and music to stir the love of God deep in your heart. Join us, also, on Tuesday, May 18 at 7 pm for May Crowning. This beautiful service will help us follow Mary’s example to make our generous and faithful ‘yes’ to the Lord. In so doing, our lives will be full of grace … the Lord will be with us. …Father Rob Ramser will offer a five part series of online reflections on Mary. The first will be released on Sunday, and continue throughout the week (although you can watch them at any time). He will share some of the cultural expressions of Mary and how they inspire us in our day StAmbrose.us/watchmass.…If you drive past the Catholic Works of Mercy Building, you will see another outpouring of love. This past Tuesday, our member - Patrick Mason - and his team from PMSiding pulled in to add some white siding behind the Trinity symbol (which will soon be moved up), as well as taking care of some other siding repairs for us. It’s one more expression of the love of God. If you see Pat, please offer a personal word of thanks.…God willing, we will find a dry day to have all the Saint Ambrose Students out for the Arbor Day/Earth Day Tree planting. Our friends from NEO Landscape Management are helping take care of our campus and in planting these trees.…Many thanks to our gardeners for their outpouring of great love and care for our campus. Watch it
come to life over the next few weeks. They can always use a few hands to help plant (or water in July/August). Contact Bernie to lend a hand by emailing her at [email protected]. …This coming Monday is the final Courageous Conversation that’s on the calendar to help you explore and discuss, “what the heck happened over the past year?” All who have attended will tell you that it’s a powerful and helpful conversation – a healing conversation. Please go online to hold your seat www.StAmbrose.us/This-Past-Year/. It’s one more way to walk together into a bright and hopeful future.…There will be a special Outdoor Mass of Remembrance for all who have died over the past year due to Covid-19. Please help us plan by registering the name of your family member/loved one/friend at : www.StAmbrose.us/Remembrance/. Please join us.…Speaking of Outdoor Masses, please join us next Saturday, May 15 at 6:30 pm at the Grotto (or under the tent). We will also be continuing Drive Thru Communion every Sunday at 1 pm (back by the Catholic Works of Mercy Building).…As we walk into the summer, you should be seeing a whole host of outdoor fun, family events. Watch for all the details. Our summer festival will be part of the summer fun. Save the dates for June 24-27! Summer@StAmbrose – let’s make it a safe and comfortable place for all of us to ‘come home’ this summer.…ALL parish leaders (heads of every group, ministry, organization and program) are needed to join in a special Parish Planning Meeting on Tuesday, May 25 at 6 pm. We need your help to make sure we walk into a fullness of life and ministry this Fall Season for our parish community. This meeting is part of our parish Kingdom Building Process.…At our Parish Finance Council
meeting and Endowment Committee meeting, I shared some wonderful, amazing news. One of our long time, active members, who went home to the Lord this past year, has remembered Saint Ambrose in her Will and Testament. It will take some time for us to know the amount of the gift for our parish endowment. It’s a wonderful blessing for our parish and a great way for her to continue her love and devotion to God, to our Blessed Mother, and to our parish community. It’s also a good moment to remind all of us to remember Saint Ambrose in your Will and estate planning.…One goes and another comes!! Last week, we said thank you to Mark Tomechko who has been with us this past year as part of his field education for the Diaconate. Mark will continue his preparation and studies. Please keep him in your prayers. On Tuesday, Deacon Ian Kelly started moving in. He was recently ordained a transitional deacon and will complete his field education at Saint Ambrose as he prepares for priesthood in May of 2022. He will be with us all summer and then every weekend through his ordination. Please join me in welcoming him to Saint Ambrose.…Join me in congratulating and praying for our second graders who are celebrating their First Eucharist this weekend. What a special blessing for them to receive the love of God in Jesus Christ in their hearts. May this be the first of many times they - and their families - come together at the Table of the Lord.…”let us love one another, because love is of God.” Over and again, I see the outpouring of God’s love in our community. We are alive in Christ and filled with God’s Spirit. Happy Mother’s Day. Have a blessed week.

Stephen MinistryWhen "Pull Yourself Together," Does Not Work. You heard it time and time again: “Pull yourself together…Cheer up…Tough it out…It’s not that bad.” Perhaps people have said it to you. Or perhaps you keep saying it to yourself. But it has not helped. You are still hurting. Things are coming apart. Here is good news: You do not have to go through your struggles alone. Help is available. Our Stephen Ministers are trained caregivers who will walk with you, listen to you, and provide confidential, one-on-one care as you search through the pieces and find what is truly in your heart. If you are sad or struggling inside, do not suffer alone. Ask for help. We have a team of Stephen Ministers who are ready to listen, care, encourage, pray and help you through a tough time. Find out more and talk to one of our Stephen Leaders: Lisa Homady at [email protected] or 330.460.7315, or Carol Maline at [email protected] or 330.460.7336. Dear Parish Family, TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEKWe will finish our 4th quarter strong as we end an incredibly blessed year offering in-person and remote consistent learning excellence all year long! This past week, we especially celebrated our teachers and continue to thank them for their remarkable work of reaching our students and helping them grow spiritually, academically and emotionally. We are beyond blessed by our faculty and staff! Our PTU partnered with our parents to make each day special during this week with cards, treats, and thoughtfulness! Our students surprised two faculty members by nominating them for the FOX 8 Teacher of the Week! Ms. Erin Trigg and Mrs. Julie Takacs were both honored and are being featured on the news! What a blessing our community is for their support for our stellar faculty and staff! Mrs. Kelly Thompson was honored earlier this spring with the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) Lead. Learn. Proclaim. Award for excellence in Catholic education. She is the 4th person at Saint Ambrose School to be recognized nationally by the National Catholic Educational Association! Fr. Bob Stec was recognized in 2018, Principal Lisa Cinadr in 2019, and Mrs. Amy Morgan in 2020. Our school is blessed with faith, leadership, innovation and a BIG heart for children. Goodness abounds within and beyond our school walls!
FIRST EUCHARISTMay God bless our Second Grade students who joined PSR students this weekend for the first time at the Table of the Lord. We are so grateful for Mrs. Nicole Shreve and Mrs. Cheryl Kubas, our Second Grade teachers, and for Mrs. Janet Majka, her sacramental prep team and our pastoral team for their devoted work and ministry to prepare our students for these very special sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist. We joyfully welcome all of our newest members to the Table of the Lord with other students to follow through the summer. God bless you!
ALUMNI IN THE NEWSWe love hearing about all the good things our graduates are doing in high school and beyond! Congratulations and many thanks to Padua Franciscan High School senior, and Saint Ambrose alumna Kylee Kirkpatrick ’21, along with Anthony Shuman ’21 and Jay Skrab ’21 for winning the RITE CoolTech Challenge. They built an app called Tudr. They envisioned the platform would be a place where students could go to get assistance with their school work from either fellow students or experts in a particular field. Our SAS alumni are doing incredible things and are leaders for tomorrow! We are so joyful, blessed and proud of them! Follow us on social media, to catch all of the great news!
WE ARE HIRING!As we continue to grow and thrive, we are also adding to our exemplar team for the summer and 2021-22 school year! God has blessed us with high enrollment and continued growth in our expanded preschool campus across the street. Thank you for sharing these opportunities below with those looking to join a school team that is centered on excellence and Jesus Christ Who is Everything for us!
Joyfully,
Lisa Cinadr, Principal

Please contact Bill Zarefoss at 216.287.4552 with any questions.

Marriage
Marriage Moment of the WeekSelfless Love“Beloved, let us love one another because love is of God.” (1 John 4:7) Sounds simple, but anyone married even a short time knows that love can be a challenge when two wills conflict. Just for today, pretend you are God trying to love your spouse selflessly.
If you would like your loved one’s name to appear in the bulletin's In Loving Memory section, please call the Parish Front Office at 330.460.7300.
