Plair, a Pastor’ s son, was born with an intrinsic melodic distinctive and a com-

pelling music heritage. When he was 4 years old he started to play the piano

at Congregational C.O.G.I.C. for his father, Superintendent Joseph Plair, Sr. His

three brothers and sister were always in attendance. He grew up with an insa-

tiable love for basketball in the inner city of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Somehow,

his love for basketball outweighed his love of music!

Yet, his life was about to change beyond his wildest dreams! In his senior year, be-cause of irreconcilable differences with his coach, he became the only player to be cut from the high school’ s varsity bas-ketball team. Jon’ s dreams were utterly shattered as he tried to make sense of it all. He asked himself again and again, “ how could this be happening to me at the varsity level after three years of my best playing?” Consequently, he decid-ed to take on the mentality of the world and give up on God!

But, then again, God had a plan! Unknowingly to him, it was the

dawning of his gospel music career! The process was not by any

means easy for him, it was filled with ebbs and flows, of ups and

downs! In spite of this, he recognized when God has a plan for

your life, the will ofGod must prevail! The rest is history!

He is a member and the Co-ordinator of Choirs of the Messiah Baptist Church under the dynamic leadership of Pastor Orville LittleJohn. As a Co-ordinator of choirs, coupled with his keen ear for music direction and arrangement, he effectively delivers the total connectivity for the appreciation of gospel music. As a result, he creates for his audience a “ taste and see response.” Not only is Plair a skillful vocalist, his tal-ents transcends various creative art forms.

He is an accomplished pianist who plays various instruments ranging from the drums to the trumpet. He is also a prolific and innovative di-rector and a composer extraordinaire. He simultaneously projects his uncompromising vocal talents and musical gifts to an unprecedented level of artistic achievement.

Plair’ s repertoire is well-documented. His brilliant perfor-mances demonstrates his enormous sensitivity, musicality and expressiveness with his musical proficiency. Plair’ s list of performances is quite impressive and a quick glance validates his authenticity. He has performed in several shows and concerts with the gospel great Pastor Rudolph Stanfield, Jr., Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Dorinda Clark Cole and Rance Allen. and Rance Allen.

In 2012, he completed the “Jon Plair Rise Up Tour,”

three city concert tour, in Southfield, Kalamazoo

and Grand Rapids, Michigan. On this project, Plair

readily demonstrates his possession of a rare, yet

liberating talent which is uniquely his. Most distin-

guishing, is his vast vocal reservoir of vocal tech-

niques and his overwhelming ability to execute

them. His voice is powerful and loaded with impec-

cable vocal artistry savored with captivating har-

monic blends, masterfully oriented.

His educational background exemplifies his spirit of

excellence. He attended Loy Norrix High School,

Kalamazoo, Michigan. (The place where he

thought destiny was sealed and opportunity was

plentiful.) Notably, he continued his educational

pursuits at the University of DetroitMercy, Detroit-

Michigan. He is married to the very lovely Naomi

PlaiPlair. They are the blessed parents of two dynamic

children. Plair is also a visionary extraordinaire! At

the age of 25, he started the Plair’ sMusic Institute

of Performing Arts. Jon Plair graciously invites you to
