THE BLACK SOX TRIAL
In the fall of 1919 eight players on the Chicago White Sox conspired with gamblers to fix the 1919 World Series. The players agreed to throw the series in exchange for a cut of the gamblers winnings from the fix. The eight players were caught and banned from baseball for life.
