About Sherri (by Jonathan)

One of Sherri's greatest joys is being a mom so she is so excited to be a full time stay at home mom!  Sherri has a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy and works part time as a home health occupational therapist.  When we adopt again, she will be home full time.  She has such a giving heart and enjoys being a blessing and encouragement to others. Sherri loves to read and is enjoying sharing her love of reading with Lacy. Even though Sherri doesn't sing in public, like I do, she enjoys making up songs and singing them to Lacy.

About Jonathan (by Sherri)

Jonathan is such a great husband and an even better dad. Jonathan has a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and is an Officer in the Air Force as a Registered Nurse. He only works 3 days a week, which allows a lot of quality family time together.  Jonathan is funny, a kid at heart, very outgoing, dedicated, and a very hard worker. Jonathan is committed to God, family and church. He enjoys singing in the choir and on the praise team at church and often has the honor of singing the Star Spangled Banner for special ceremonies for the military.  Jonathan enjoys doing projects around the house, grilling, watching football, and fishing with family and friends.

We grew up in church together and are still active in the same church today. We are best friends and genuinely enjoy spending time with each other. Sherri’s greatest joy is being a mom so she can’t wait to be a full time stay at home mom when we are blessed by adoption again. To Jonathan, being a dad is the best gift ever.  Jonathan enjoys carrying Lacy around on his shoulders, reading a book or watching a movie while she lies on his arm. Our daughter, Lacy, is 4 years old. We adopted Lacy as a newborn and continue to keep in touch with her birth family.

The Adoption of our daughter LacyLacy, age 4, is “Daddy’s little princess” and “Mommy’s sunshine”.  She is tenderhearted, giving, and compassionate and is eager to be a big sister.  She loves to listen to music, sing songs, dance, swim, read, ride her bike, and go to the park. We supported Lacy's birth mother throughout her pregnancy and were fortunate to be at the hospital after Lacy arrived.  We spent quality time with Lacy's birth family in the hospital and took lots of photos together.  We will always treasure those moments forever.   We continue to keep in touch with Lacy's birth family and are very open with Lacy about her adoption story.  There is not a day that goes by that we don't pray for Lacy's birthmother and thank God for bringing us all together.

Our Christian FaithWe look forward to raising our children in a Christian home filled with love.  We will not only teach your child good morals, values and about God's love, but we will strive everyday to teach them by example.  Our church family is very important to us, and they are joining us as we pray for another child.  We are both involved in our church and serve in several ministries.

EducationWe are both college graduates and will provide the

best education possible, whether it's living in a great

school district or choosing a private, Christian

education.  We have already started saving for our

children's education.  We will support your child in

all they do and encourage them every step of the way.  

We love our large but cozy home! We are just minutes from the beach and have a very friendly neighborhood filled with families!

Gramps has created special gifts every Christmas for the grandkids. He even built a two-story tree house, with swings, slides, and a lookout, in the backyard.

I have known Jonathan and Sherri for over 10 years.  I have been involved with them as members of a local Baptist church in multiple children's ministries from AWANA's to vacation bible school and also as personal friends.  I have observed that Jonathan and Sherri are strong Christian parents with a patient disposition.   They have one child, Lacy, and she is the joy of their lives.  They are very involved in every aspect of her life and development.  Both have always interacted in a loving, caring and gentle way with children and adults alike.  Jonathan and Sherri are always very loving toward each other and those around them.  I see Jonathan and Sherri as loving, compassionate and caring adoptive parents.  I give my unreserved recommendation that they be allowed to adopt.~Patrick

Thank you for considering Jonathan and Sherri.  I have been friends with Sherri for 24 years and can truly say what a delightful gal she is. She is just one of those persons you want to hang out with and soak up some of the joy, positive attitude, laughter and kindness that flows from her. Jonathan too is of high moral character. They balance each other perfectly. They are respectful, honest and tender with one another on all matters.  They own a beautiful well maintained spacious home with plenty of room for a growing family. Jonathan and Sherri were blessed through adoption four years ago when they adopted their sweet Lacy at birth. They have been praying and considering adopting again for some time now. They truly long for another child knowing they want a sibling for Lacy.  Little Miss Lacy is all girly girl and has brought so much joy to Jonathan and Sherri. Lacy knows that adoption means you are “Doubly Loved” and knows her baby brother or sister will not come from her Mama’s belly but from another. I could not recommend another couple that is more prepared than Sherri and Jonathan.  Not only are they experienced adoptive parents but they continue to educate themselves on adoptive issues to better themselves for their daughter and children to come.  They are a fun loving family and take several family trips a year.  They have super supportive extended family of grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins for their children. They are actively involved in several church activities and display Christianity in all they do.  Jonathan and Sherri are incredible adoptive parents!

I am writing this letter to express my support for Jonathan and Sherri as prospective adoptive parents.  I have known both of them for over 10 years.  We met at church and we became instant friends.  Sherri is always putting others wants and needs ahead of her own and is always upbeat and optimistic.  Jonathan is a hardworking and a fun loving father and husband.  Both Jonathan and Sherri enjoy spending time with friends and family and are very active in their local church.  Jonathan and Sherri have a daughter, Lacy, that seems to be the center of their world.  They spend their days reading books, watching movies and baking.  I believe that Lacy will be a wonderful big sister and she can't wait to be able to teach her brother or sister things that her mommy and daddy have taught her.  Jonathan and Sherri's child will grow up surrounded by caring, loving family member and friends.  If anyone deserves to adopt a child, it is Jonathan and Sherri and any child will be very lucky to have them as their mom and dad.~Sherri
