Journal 5 Week Five (2 – 6 March 2015) For this week, I finally had my first observation with my lecturer for English language subject. During the observation, my writing lesson did not run smoothly because of several reasons. The first reason was due to time constrain. On that day, my pupils were at the library at is took quite some time for them to return to their classroom and get ready for the lesson. The second problem was that, their motivation level suddenly dropped in the middle of the lesson, especially during the production stage where they suddenly became neglected to do their worksheet. Based from my observation with them for about one month, the task that I had given was not too hard because I could see that they could produce better work. It was proven during the next day when I collected their worksheet and all of them were able to complete it, except for the low proficiency pupils, where there were a lot of mistakes. Therefore I realized that it is very important to maintain the pupils’ motivation in class because it will affect their learning. In order to fix this problem, I may need to do what I have done during my previous practicum where I will choose the best pupils based from my checklist. The checklist is mainly about positive behaviour in class that I want and it was a very simple one. It will be hidden from all the pupils as I want them to think what makes the pupils that I chose win the award.

Week Five (2 – 6 March 2015)

For this week, I finally had my first observation with my lecturer for English

language subject. During the observation, my writing lesson did not run smoothly

because of several reasons. The first reason was due to time constrain. On that day, my

I will not give the present or the reward everyday but I will give it after two weeks

or three weeks. The reason why I wanted to make the day of the ‘ceremony’ unfix is

because, I want the pupils to always be surprise on when I will announce the best

pupils. Besides that I also want them to know that I will always observe on how they

behave and participate during my lesson. To end my journal this week, I just want to say

that, I cannot wait to start this intervention for my future days of my third and final phase

of my practicum.
