One day I had a best friend. The next day we were enemies and we still

are. Yes, I may talk about her causing the situation by slapping me to my

friends because I was extremely mad at her. Who wouldn’t be mad at some-

one for abusing them? I don’t call her names or spread rumors about her.

You threaten me and say that you will make my life miserable. What’s the

point? So who cares if you start spreading rumors about things that are not

true? So what if I told you secrets and you exaggerate them and tell every-

body? Tell me, what’s the point? My real friends know the truth and that’s

all that matters. I know you think I’m weak compared to you. Sure I may

not be as strong as you but, making up lies about other people and yourself

make you weak. Then you are always using people to make you more

“popular.” Like right now you are dating someone who is always getting

into trouble and is always being talked about. You think that by dating him

people will talk about you dating him so that you will become more popu-

lar. Well that’s not how it works. I’m smart enough to know that not you or

anyone else can ruin my life. You can only ruin yours. You know who you

are.

Attention all poets! This is a new column dedicated to those who appre-

ciate and are interested in becoming a better poet. Here, we are going to be

interpreting poems, interviewing poetically influential people, and analyzing

inspiring poems. Of course, we don’t plan on forgetting the students at CMS!

So, if you want your poem in the paper, please personally submit it to Mrs.

Jenkins by writing it down and giving it to her or emailing it to jjen-

[email protected].

“Stars”

Stars at night

Shine so bright

Wish on one

“I wish I may, I wish I might”

Pick the star of your choice

When your wish comes true you will rejoice

“Skip, Jump, and Fly Sky High!”

Skip jump and fly sky high,

Sparkles twinkle in the sky as we fly Sky high!

Smile and sore as we fly dance and sing and flap your wings!

Know you and go for you and leave the world behind wile your high

in the sky!

Move on and never come down let your heart carry your feet!

Fallow your heart through the sky and say hey to those who help

you on your way,

But never look back and soar through the skys!

We know no limits to what we can do!

We can do what we set our minds to!

We will fly sky high to light and do our wildest dreams

They will come true and let all of those Know

We can do anything!

“My I Am”

I am an empty lot.

A razor used too many times.

A weathered pillar, expecting destruction.

I’m an exaggerated expression.

And quiet background music.

I am the snapping of fingers,

The snapping of bones.

I am the snapping around of heads and.

The slapping of the owned.

The throwing of stones.

For I am not the thought behind the action

But the action in itself.

I am the destructed but…

I. Am. Destruction.

-Melody Ryder

What is “Hearts for a Heart”, you ask? Well, there is a family in Central that are soon go-

ing to have a son that will be named Parker. This unborn child already developed a disease

called Hydro Plastic Left Heart Syndrome. Once he is born at a hospital in Boston, he will have

to be put into a coma, then will proceed straight into a very serious surgery . So by donating

just a dollar, you can save little Parker’s life, and give him safety.

How do you feel?

I believe that everybody is entitled to their own opinions. For example,

Mr. Leblanc, the band/music director, has his own opinions about the new

school. Here are some of his opinions:

How do you feel about the new school?

- “Excited.”

How do you feel about the new band room?

- “Anything can be an improvement to our facilities right now. So, it

will be exciting.”

How do you feel about the 7 hour day, 5 days a week?

- “Great for me, teaching band, because I can see all of my students each day,

not every other day. Plus, the shorter classes will make student’s attention go up.”

How do you feel about the new choir teacher?

-“I think that’s exciting because I can just focus on band, which my degree is

in.”

“EVERYBODY HAS A VOICE, BUT THEY CHOOSE

NOT TO USE IT!”

- Mr. LeBlanc (band/music director.)
