Join other pilgrims as together we seek fresh experiences of the sacred. Celtic Christian spirituality has much to say to contemporary people of various faiths: that humanity embodies God’s goodness at its heart, that we can learn about the divine through Creation, that we can find pathways to the Spirit through community, and that women are valued as created in the divine image. Travel with a dierence… Your pilgrimage is a personal experience, but one lived within the context of community. We will visit remote islands where monks lived, learned, and prayed in community. We will experience sacred wells and high crosses. We will worship on islands on the edge of the Atlantic where medieval saints educated clergy who kept the flame of learning alive. We will create and embody a community of seekers. Celtic Christian Pilgrimage to Ireland Journey with us! Travel with a difference… Your pilgrimage is a personal experience, but one lived within the context of community. We will visit remote islands where monks lived, learned, and prayed in community. We will experience sacred wells and high crosses. We will worship on islands on the edge of the Atlantic where medieval saints educated clergy who kept the flame of learning alive. The Holy Well at Kildare is the place from which St. Brigid reached out to Ireland with the message of Celtic Christianity, and it also is a pre-Christian site of a sacred oak grove where druids led worship.

!

Skellig Michael is a rocky outcrop of an island off the southwest coast of Ireland, which monks settled as a “desert in the ocean.” We’ll travel by boat to this UNESCO heritage site, weather permitting!

Newgrange Walk millennia into the past as you enter a passage tomb older than the pyramids.

Sermons in Stone High crosses are among the greatest representations of Celtic Christianity from the early medieval period. Explore them across Ireland and discover the spiritual treasures they embody.

A Journey of Faith… ancient roots,fresh understandings,new beginnings.

Irish culture is alive... The contemporary culture is vibrant. Whether your having a pint in a Dublin pub or listening to “trad” music in Dingle, Irish culture is a continuous link to a rich past.

Food and lodging…will be in better hotels and restaurants as well as some fun, out-of-the-way places we have discovered. Transportation by luxury coach makes travel easy.

Definitely not a tour…but a journey for you to explore your sense of spirituality in “The Land of Saint and Scholars.”

Time to explore, time to rest… A pilgrimage is not simply trekking from one site to the next: we expect to encounter the sacred. We build in time for sabbath moments and active exploration.

Dublin, Newgrange, Slane, Tara, Monasterboice, Glendalough, Kildare, Clonmacnoise, the Aran Islands,

Skellig Michael, the Dingle Peninsula.
