Lonely in a rocky peruvian landscape, a robot is drawing a city blueprint. Days after days, it slowly writes roads and blocks, imagining the life that may one day occur inbetween these lines, in the new Nazca.Read more about Rodriguo Derteano’s project here.

Slowly, somewhere inbetween Lyon and London, an other robot is making pencils dribble on A2 papers in order to reveal 20 hours later the face of a revolutionary poet. Revolution takes time.Check more of Paul Ferragut’s projects here.

Humanly, bumping into each other somewhere in the sybway of internet, two talk bots happen to have their first chat together. Gathering all their knowledge and charm, they dare to tease the listener and argue about God. Listen to their talk here.

La Blogothèque continues to bring us some amazing sounds ; here is one of the latestes sonic bombs I’ve recently heard : Bomba Estereo.

Together with the lyrics, the rythm and the melody, Lili’s heavy voice fly in the air like a rocket, embrassing everything around, including your heart. In 2010, La Blogothèque recorded two ‘concert à emporter’ featuring Bomba Estero in the streets of Bogota ; listen here.

When pictures become sensitive, the sight is no longer lonely. Staring at Lisa Waasmann photographs makes all your sense fully awake, your hearth beat slows down for a second, and you breathe with your eyes.

Lately, I spent quite a few of my summer evening laying of my balconny, smoking quietly, staring at the city in front of me. Going round and round in my flat, I had the feeling that even if this cityscape is one of the most livable place on earth, there was few escapes. Almost none. As if what looks like reality only was an artefact of a spectacle. As if this miliue for our specy to grow was only a fake stage for us to live. Inbetween four walls.

As if we were all living in a zoo.

Entertainment is the air we breathe. But when it bankrupts, it leaves the lanscape wounded and the neighborhood a feeling of a ghost city.

In China is one of the last example, a place was aimed to be the biggest entertainment resort in the Beijing suburb. See more of the intriguing work of Catherine Hyland here. Desolation is our new entertainment. There are no escape, we live in a zoo.

City walls are your notebook. Change block as you would turn a page, choose the right support, walls, metro, trucks, sidewalk or mailboxes.

Now you can train your grafiti from home, using the Walls Notebook as your playground first. Of course, don’t forget to go and

sign IRL too. Urban space has never been as much an interior space as it is now. There are no escape, we live in a zoo.

In NYC, Twitter tweets every seconds. But all ‘shouts’ remain digital. Which is to say remain silent for all our

analog ears. Hopefully ImprovEverywhere has prepared a great shouting experience ; look at the video to get the point and you’ll see how joyfull our zoo might become if we were shouting IRL. Is there any link with the «les indignés» movement ? That might be ...

L’explosion du journalismeDes médias de masse à la masse des médias, Ignacio Ramonet

The last book from Ignacio Ramonet, sharing his thoughts about the work of journalists and the future of media groups.

This topic about media, data, journalism, information is quite vast, I’ll come back about it in further edition of this zine.

Li Edelkoort about the Post Fossil trend :

«Time has come for extreme change.

Society is ready to break away from last century for good. To break with creative conventions, theoretic rules and stigmas that now are questioned, challenged and broken. To break with a materialistic mentality replacing it with the materialisation of modest earth-bound and recomposed matter. In the aftermath of the worst financial crisis in decades, a period of glamorous and streamlined design for design’s sake comes to an end.

p.19

Page 20: JPG TXT FLV PNG RTF MP4

A new generation of designers retrace their roots, refine their earth and research their history, sometimes going back to the beginning of time. In this process, they form and formulate design around exactly these natural and sustainable materials, favouring timber, hide, pulp, fibre, earth and fire; like contemporary cavemen, they reinvent shelter, redesign tools and manmade machines, and conceptualise archaic rituals for a more modest, contented and contained lifestyle. Like a Fred Flintstone of tomorrow.»

Whashed Up is a serie made by the mexican artist Alejandro Durán.

It reminds me of Chris Jordan’s work, his pictures of dead birds filled with plastic trashes, or Nyaba Leon Ouedraogo’s photographs of workers in Ghana dealing with a sea of computer rubbish.

All around the world, you hear some stories about taking care of bees. After the famous Opéra de Paris, or the London agency of the sucessful Wolf Ollins creative network, LVMH headquarter in Paris lately started to shelter some golden insects in luxury boxes to produce heavenly dlicious honey. Even my father has in his backyard a wooden box with around 30 000 bees buzzing, for his great pleasure. And here are even more stories about urban apiaries.

Two years ago already, Yann Moulier Boutang stated that we all are ‘Google worker bees’.

“You are working for Google! Every second, 15 million people are clicking and feeding data to Google – a true paradigm of people working for the firm,”

Since 2009, the situation with Google didn’t change. On the other hand, and maybe from our new insect point of

view, we started to care about our fellow workers, the real golden buzzing insects, whose species was endangered. Saving bees now means saving ourselves. For further question, check the lexicon of sustainability aims to define what sustainability is, in concrete terms and in real life actions.

«The Lexicon project is based on a simple premise: people can’t be expected to live more sustainable lives if they don’t even know the most basic terms and principles that define sustainability.»

In 2006, photographer Jonathan Torgovnik began work on what became a three-year project photographing and interviewing Rwandan women who had children as the result of being raped during the genocide. Torgovnik won the 2007 National Portrait Gallery’s Photographic Portrait Prize for an image from this work. The culmination of his project is an exhibition and book, Intended Consequences: Rwandan Children Born of Rape, published by the Aperture Foundation. Inspired by the people he met on this project, Torgovnik co-founded Foundation Rwanda, established to improve the lives of Rwandan children born of rape.
