1 The Ethiopian Youth Sports Academy
(hereinafter the Academy) is hereby
established as an autonomous federal of sport
education and training institution having its
own legal personality
2 The Academy shall be accountable to the
Commission
4 HCld Office
The Academy shall have its head office in Addis
Ababa and may have training centers elsewhere as
may be necessary
5
The Academy shall have the following objectives
1 to produce physically and mentajly
competent and ethically sound young sport
clites for national and intemational
competitions
2 to render capacity building training for
professionals in different sport felids
3 to conduct research and studies which
contribute to the quality of different sport
disciplines and disseminate the results
thereof
4 to serve as a celter of excellence fordiffeient
sport disciplines at the national level

The Academy shalmiddot1have the powers and duties to
II develop sports occupational standards and
training curriculum and implement same
upon accreditation by the Ministry of
Education
21 recruit enroll and train trainees based on the
demands of the regions the Ethiopian
Olympic Committee and the national sports
federations and international best practices
31 recruit enroll and train children from regions
and produce highly qualified and competitive
young sport-persons who are physically
mentally and socially fit for national and
international competitions and award them
certificates of competence upon successful
completion of their training
41 facilitate trainees to continue and become
effective iri their regular educati6n besides
the sport training program
SI enable the trainees to participate in various
in the countrys socio-economic development
and democratization process
61 provide short tenn and continuing capacity
building training according to the established
occupational standards in coaching sport
management sport medicine sport -rUfes and

financial reports of the Academy

employees of the Academy to the extent
necessary fOr the efficient performance of the
activities of the Academy

31 The Director General may delegate part of his
powers and duties to other officersmiddot and
employees of the Academy to the extent
necessary fOr the efficient performance of the
activities of the Academy
