and gives it a nice contrast. This is perfect for someone with a sweet tooth. We moved on to the Prune Walnut Almond Cupcake. I have to admit that this is my favorite. I love the flavors as it is very refreshing. The cake is moist and not too sweet. The frosting is not sweet at all which complements the cake really well. Next was the Prune Walnut Cupcake. It’s the lighter version of the Prune Walnut Almond. It’s good but I prefer the richness of the Prune Walnut Almond cupcake. The red velvet with cream cheese frosting was also served. Red velvet is included in my top 5 list of favorite cakes. I’ve tried different versions from different shops all over Manila. Theirs is good as well – a bit buttery and the frosting is really good. The Banana Cake was served last. It is super moist and has a strong banana flavor. There is a good balance of sweetness and saltiness. Sadly, we couldn’t try more with a full tummy.

While we were there, I asked one of the customers, John Abillon, what his favorite

is. He said his favorite is the Chocolate Cake. He’s actually had it thrice, not on the same day of course, and keeps coming back for more. He likes it because he wasn’t expecting that kind of consistency and it was very different from the usual chocolate cake. He says it’s moist and the sweetness is just right.

Molly Berry is not just your ordinary bakeshop – it is a great place to hang out with friends as well. It is a place to enjoy a good coffee, savor sweet goodies and chat with friends. They also sell materials and ingredients for baking at a very reasonable price.

The location is easily accessible as the jeepneys and FXs pass in front of the complex. It is also easy to find as it is just along Katipunan St. corner Rainbow St.

I’m sure to come back for more. Next time, I’ll try the old fashioned chocolate cake, ensaymada, Oreo and red velvet truffles, blueberry cheesecake, cream puff and the list goes on.
