FINISHED CARPENTRY WORK AND MILLWORK SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS.

2. CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD-VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND SHALL SUBMIT FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL BY GDG, TRIPLICATECOPIES OF THE MILLWORK SHOP DRAWINGS.

3. THE SCOPE OF WORK INCLUDES THE PROPER ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION OF ALL RELOCATED, MODIFIED, OR NEW SHELVINGPANELS, CABINETS, COUNTERTOPS, ETC.

4. ALL WORK SHALL BE COMPLETED BY EXPERIENCED WORKERS AND CRAFTSMEN AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE HIGHESTSTANDARDS OF THE INDUSTRY.

DIVISION 7 THERMAL AND MOISTURE PROTECTION1. ALL RIGID AND FIBERGLASS BATT INSULATION SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURERS'

RECOMMENDATIONS AND PER LOCAL ENERGY CONSERVATION REQUIREMENTS.

2. ROOFING MATERIALS, FLASHING, AND SEALANTS SHALL BE APPLIED IN KEEPING WITH THE MANUFACTURERS'RECOMMENDATIONS. ALL WORK SHALL BE COMPLETED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE HIGHEST STANDARDSOF THE INDUSTRY ANDALL APPLICABLE SURFACES SHALL BE BROOM CLEANED, MOPPED, SMOOTH, AND DRY AS NEEDED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.

3. CONTRACTOR SHALL THOROUGHLY INSPECT SITE CONDITIONS AND SHALL FURNISH ALL NECESSARY LABOR AND MATERIAL TOPROVIDE A COMPLETE AND WATER TIGHT INSTALLATION.

4. ALL FLASHING AND VALLEYS SHALL BE MADE OF PREMIUM ROOFING-GRADE COPPER AND SHALL BE SET TO PROVIDE AWATER-TIGHT INSTALLATION.

5. ALL GUTTERS AND DOWNSPOUTS SHALL BE SIZED AND SHAPED AS SPECIFIED.

6. MOISTURE/VAPOR BARRIERS AND VENTS SHALL BE INSTALLED THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT AS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGSAND IN ACCORDANCE WITH STANDARD LOCAL PRACTICE.

7. OVERALL THERMAL PROTECTION AND WATERPROOFING WORK SHALL BE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST LEVEL OFWORKMANSHIP.

8. CONTRACTOR IS CAUTIONED THAT SCOPE OF WORK INCLUDES THE SELECT REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVEROOFING, COPING, FLASHING, GUTTERS, SCUPPERS,..ETC. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE TO FULLY DELINEATE INTENDEDSCOPE OF WORK DURING THE BIDDING PROCESS AS NEEDED TO DELIVER A WATER TIGHT INSTALLATION.

DIVISION 8 DOORS, HARDWARE AND GLAZINGA. DOORS AND HARDWARE1. ALL DOORS SHALL MEET LOCAL CODE, FIRE REQUIREMENTS, AND PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS.

2. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED BY GDG ALL DOORS, JAMBS AND CASINGS SHALL BE PROVIDED AND INSTALLED BYCONTRACTOR.

3. HARDWARE SHALL BE AS SPECIFIED AND MUST BE HANDLED WITH THE UTMOST CARE. ANY SPECIALTY ITEMS MUST BEAPPROVED BY GDG PRIOR TO ORDERING AND INSTALLATION.

4. ALL NEW DOORS SHALL BE KEYED IN ACCORDANCE AS PER DOOR SCHEDULE AND SHALL BE MATCHED TO THE EXISTINGBUILDING MASTER KEY.

5. ALL NEW KEYS SHALL HAVE (3) DUPLICATES AND SHALL BE PROPERLY TAGGED AND REMITTED TO GDG AND THE OWNER.

B. GLAZING1. ALL GLAZING TO BE AS SPECIFIED AND SIZED TO MEET LOCAL CODE REQUIREMENTS. SCOPE INCLUDES THE REMOVAL AND

REUSE OF EXISTING INTERIOR GLAZING AS WELL AS NEW GLAZING.

2. CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD-VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND SHALL SUBMIT FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL BY GDG, TRIPLICATECOPIES OF THE GLAZING SHOP DRAWINGS.

3. WHERE APPLICABLE TEMPERED OR LAMINATE SAFETY GLASS SHALL BE USED AS REQUIRED BY CODE.

4. SEALANT COMPOUND SHALL BE AN ACRYLIC TERPOLYMER, "MONO," AS MANUFACTURED BY TERMCO MANUFACTURING CO.,DURON COMPANY, OR APPROVED SUBSTITUTE.

5. WINDOWS, GLAZING, AND WEATHER-STRIPPING PRODUCTS AND INSTALLATION SHALL BE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST LEVELSOF WORKMANSHIP.

DIVISION 9 FINISHESA. PLASTER AND DRYWALL1. ALL FRAMING SHALL BE SPACED NOT TO EXCEED STANDARD RECOMMENDED PRACTICE.

2. FASTENINGS AND JOINTS SHALL BE PREPARED, FINISHED AND SANDED TO PROVIDE A DRY, CLEAN AND SMOOTH SURFACE ANDSHALL BE COMPLETED ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER'S GUIDELINES AND SPECIFICATIONS.

3. WHERE REQUIRED, GYPSUM BOARD SHALL BE A WATER-RESISTANT, FIRE-RESISTANT, OR EXTERIOR-GRADE PRODUCT ASMANUFACTURED BY U.S. GYPSUM COMPANY OR APPROVED EQUAL.

4. CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE THAT ALL SURFACES HAVE BEEN FULLY POINTED, SANDED, AND PREPARED PRIOR TO THEAPPLICATION OF THE FIRST COAT OF PRIMER PAINT.

5. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTING ANY DEFECTS AND ANY POINT-UPS AND SKIMMING THAT MAY BE REQUIREDAFTER THE PRIMER PAINT COAT HAS BEEN APPLIED.

6. NO SANDING SHALL BE UNDERTAKEN UNTIL ALL LIGHTING FIXTURES HAVE BEEN PROPERLY PROTECTED AND ALL AIR RETURNSHAVE BEEN FULLY COVERED WITH AIR FILTERS.

7. CONTRACTOR SHALL CONFIRM AND COORDINATE THE INSTALLATION OF ALL IN THE WALL BLOCKING REQUIRED BY OTHERTRADES AND SHALL INCLUDE ANY WALL REPAIRS RESULTING FROM OPENINGS OR SURFACE CHANGES RESULTING FROM THEWORK OF OTHER TRADES.

I. GDG's RULES AND PROCEDURES FOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

DIVISION 1 GENERAL NOTES1. THE GEORGETOWN DESIGN GROUP, INC. (GDG) HAS BEEN RETAINED BY DCPL AS THE PROJECT'S ARCHITECT AND IS THE SOLE

INTERPRETER OF THE PROJECT'S DESIGN INTENT AND REQUIREMENTS.

2. CONTRACTOR, ITS SUBS, AND SUPPLIERS SHALL THOROUGHLY REVIEW THE PLANS AND FAMILIARIZE THEMSELVES WITH THE SITEAND SHALL BRING TO THE ATTENTION OF GDG AND THE OWNER, PRIOR TO BIDDING AND COMMENCING WORK, ANY POSSIBLEDISCREPANCIES OR REQUEST FOR CLARIFICATIONS.

3. THE PROJECT'S PLANS AND DOCUMENTS ARE INTENDED TO REASONABLY REPRESENT THE PROJECT'S INTENDED SCOPE OF WORKAND THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TIMELY COMPLETION OF THE WORK AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OFALL SAFETY PROCEDURES, PRECAUTIONS AND CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES RELATED TO THE PROJECT.

4. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN A DAILY LOG OF ALL ON-SITE ACTIVITIES, AND SHALL PROVIDE WEEKLY SUMMARIES TO GDG ANDTHE OWNER ON A REGULAR BASIS.

5. CONTRACTOR MUST COORDINATE ALL LOGISTICAL ISSUES INCLUDING ACCESS TO THE SITE, WORKING HOURS, REMOVAL OFDEBRIS, DELIVERY OF EQUIPMENT AND MATERIAL AND MUST ADHERE TO OWNER'S RESONABLE REQUIREMENTS AND APPLICABLELOCAL AND MUNICIPAL REGULATIONS.

6. CONTRACTOR IS FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PERFORMANCE AND PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR OF ITS OWN CREWS AND SUBS.

7. CONTRACTOR MUST ENSURE THAT SUITABLE CREW FACILITIES AND REFUSE CONTAINERS ARE MAINTAINED IN AN APPROPRIATELOCATION AND IN CLEAN CONDITIONS.

A. CODES AND REGULATIONS1. ALL WORKMANSHIP AND MATERIALS SHALL CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA CODES AND

REGULATIONS INCLUDING THE LATEST EDITIONS OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE AND NFPA 70.

2. CONTRACTOR AND ITS SUBS SHALL APPLY AND PAY FOR ALL REQUIRED TRADE PERMITS AND SHALL INCLUDE IN THEIR CONTRACTALL FEES INCIDENTAL TO THEIR WORK.

3. CONTRACTOR SHALL KEEP ON SITE AND HAVE ON FILE, SIGNED COPIES OF ALL REQUIRED PERMITS AS WELL AS ALL APPLICABLEINSPECTIONS.

B. INSURANCE AND CERTIFICATES1. PRIOR TO BEGINNING WORK, CONTRACTOR AND ITS SUBS SHALL PROVIDE A CURRENT COPY OF THEIR WORKERS COMPENSATION

AND COMPREHENSIVE COMMERCIAL LIABILITY INSURANCE CERTIFICATES INCLUDING ANY ADDITIONAL CONTRACTUALLY REQUIREDBY THE OWNER AND SHALL NAME GDG AND THE OWNER AS ADDITIONAL INSURED.

C. WARRANTIES1. CONTRACTOR AND ITS SUBS SHALL WARRANTY AND DILIGENTLY CORRECT, AT NO EXTRA CHARGE, ANY DEFECT IN THEIR WORK.

THE CORRECTION OF SUCH WORK SHALL INCLUDE ALL EXPENSES AND DAMAGES RESULTING FROM/OR CONNECTED TO THEREMOVAL, REPLACEMENT, OR REPAIR OF ANY PART OF WORK AND EXISTING CONDITIONS WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN DISTURBED ORDAMAGED AS A RESULT OF THEIR WORK.

2. EACH LABOR AND WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY SHALL BE PASSED TO THE OWNER AND SHALL BE VALID FOR A MINIMUM OF ONEYEAR FROM THE DATE OF FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF WORK BY GDG AND THE OWNER.

3. MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT WARRANTIES SHALL ALSO BE PASSED TO THE OWNER AND SHALL BE VALID FOR THE FULL PERIODSPECIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER FOLLOWING THE DATE OF FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF WORK BY GDG AND THE OWNER.

D. SHOP DRAWINGS & SUBMITTALS1. WHERE SPECIFIED AND/OR REQUIRED BY GDG AND THE SCOPE OF WORK, CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT FOR REVIEW AND

APPROVAL BY GDG AND THE OWNER, TRIPLICATE COPIES OF SHOP DRAWINGS AND SUBMITTALS.

2. CONTRACTOR AND ITS SUBS ARE SPECIFICALLY INSTRUCTED TO FIELD-VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS PRIOR TO PREPARING THEIR SHOPDRAWINGS AND STARTING FABRICATION OF ANY ITEM.

3. CONTRACTOR AND ITS SUBS ARE CAUTIONED THAT THEIR SHOP DRAWINGS MUST BE REVISED AS INSTRUCTED BY GDG AND MUSTBE APPROVED BY GDG AND THE OWNER PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH ANY FABRICATION OR INSTALLATION WORK.

E. SUPPLEMENTARY RULES1. DELIVERIES AND ACCEPTANCE OF ANY MATERIALS OR EQUIPMENT ORDERED BY CONTRACTOR AND ITS SUBS ARE THE FULL

RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR.

2. ALL CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND ITEMS KEPT ON SITE SHALL BE CLEARLY LABELED, ORDERLY STORED, AND PROTECTED.

3. CONTRACTOR AND ITS SUBS ARE SPECIFICALLY CAUTIONED THAT THEY ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFEGUARDING OFTHEIR MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, ETC. AND THAT NEITHER GDG NOR THE OWNER ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ITEMS LEFTOR STORED BY THEM AT THE SITE.

F. SCHEDULING AND COST CHANGES1. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE AND EVERY EFFORT MUST BE MADE TO AVOID ANY DELAYS AND ENSURE THE PROPER SCHEDULING OF

THE WORK AND THE NECESSARY COORDINATION OF ALL TRADES.

2. WHEN ON-SITE CONDITIONS OR SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN THE SCOPE OF WORK MAY POSSIBLY AFFECT THE PROGRESS OR THECOST OF THE PROJECT, SUCH CHANGES MUST BE SUBSTANTIATED IN WRITING AND IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OFGDG.

3. ANY SCHEDULING CHANGES OR PROPOSED COST-RELATED CHANGE ORDERS MUST BE TIMELY SUBMITTED FOR REVIEW BY GDGAND APPROVAL IN WRITING BY OWNER PRIOR TO MAKING ANY SCHEDULE CHANGES OR INCURRING ANY RELATED COSTS.

G. ALLOWANCES AND ALTERNATES:1. THE SCOPE OF WORK OUTLINED IN THE BID SET INCLUDES VARIOUS ALLOWANCES AND ALTERNATES THAT ARE SUBJECT TO

PRIOR REVIEW BY GDG AND APPROVAL BY THE OWNER PRIOR TO THEIR IMPLEMENTATION.

DIVISION 2 SITE CONSTRUCTION1. CONTRACTOR AND ITS SUBS SHALL PROTECT ALL EXISTING STRUCTURES AND INSTALLATIONS AGAINST ANY KIND OF DAMAGE.

2. TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION BARRICADES AND, WHERE APPLICABLE, DUST SHIELDS MUST BE INSTALLED AS INSTRUCTED PRIORTO BEGINNING ANY WORK.

3. EXISTING LANDSCAPING, TREES, STRUCTURES AND CONSTRUCTION WHICH IS SCHEDULED TO REMAIN SHALL BE PROTECTED, ANDSHALL REMAIN UNDISTURBED. ALL NECESSARY CUTS SHALL BE NEAT AND STRAIGHT AND ANY CONDITION DISTURBED BY ACONTRACTOR AND NOT SCHEDULED FOR CHANGE SHALL BE FULLY CORRECTED AT THE CONTRACTOR'S SOLE EXPENSE.
