Introduction

• In this project we wanted to make a perfect country that could be created for retired rich people. The country would be a place where the rich would have their hard-earned peace with a side of party. We imagine this country to be like a normal island with its beaches, but with the addition of millionaire houses. Occasionally there are many festivals, collected from around the world, that would bring all the islanders together and would let them appreciate the different cultures. The island would use the production and selling of cannabis and the money made in festivals to pay the workers who maintain the island. Finally, in order to have a peaceful community with no political problems, the citizens would pay a one-time enrollment that would cover all the expenses they would be paying a government in taxes.

Introduction to our country

• Juanstini was originally a deserted island at the north of Morocco with a distance of 50x30 miles of territory. The island used to be under water until it was discovered by a villager of the kingdom of Morocco in the late 1800’s. The young king Abdelaziz later sold the new found island to one of his closest friends, Juan.

Origin

• Juanstini was bought in 1900 by a man called Juan, a French billionaire, for 20 million dollars from Morocco. Juan's main purpose was to have an island when he retired, but he had the idea to make a perfect retirement spot for millionaires. The island doesn’t have taxes like a normal territory. It gains money by charging an enrollment of 5 million dollars (adjusted to inflation in today’s money) for each person that wants to become a citizen. In order to be a citizen, the person has to apply, go through a process of background checks that last 2 years, and have the approval of 51% of the population.

Population and Races

• The country is a mix of different races and religions because it has citizens from many countries. Most of the citizens are either white or Arab. The average age of the country is 60 years old, with the range being between 45 and 90 years old. Because of the enrollment for citizens and the expensive cost of living, there haven't been any children that live in the country. Although there have been children born in the country, parents opt on leaving the country or sending them to family members. However, this isn’t common because most of the citizens are of the third generation. Finally, there are more women than men that live in the country, mostly because of the Arabs that enroll themselves with their 2 to 6 wives

Cults and Music • The festivals take place in the town center, which is close to the beaches that are visited by the tourists. There is at least one festival a week, this is because of the variety of culture. However, twice a year there is a big party where retired artists that live at the island host the festival (it’s obligation to attend). In these parties twice a year the music that’s played is reggu.

• Reggu- type of raggae created by the retired artists that lived in the island.

Laws

Juan, in the 1900 only established 4 laws when he bought the island. The reason why there are only 4 laws is because these people are very civilized and peaceful.

The laws:• Have a recurring net worth of more than 3million dollars (90million now), the money constantly has a background check.• Attend the twice a year festival.• Pay the enrollment to be part of the island.• Serve the country for at least 2 years.

Main law•The main law is that you need to have a net worth of more than a 90 million dollars. This requirement is because the main purpose of the island is for rich people to retire in peace.

Island resourcesThere aren´t any resources grown or fabricated in the islandbecause money has never been a problem. All islanders buytheir food, clothes, and utilities online and get them shipped tothe island. This isn´t the most economic wise choice, but theislanders have never really cared about saving some extra money.

Treaty of irrelevancy1902

In 1905, Juan pleaded to his friend, the Morrocan king, for neutralityfor any type of conflict. He also asked king Abdelaziz that they wouldn´tbe bothered in any way. After this, Morroco signed the Treaty ofIrrelevancy. This treaty meant that the island of Juanstini will be neverbothered and treated as if they didn´t exist. The Morrocan governmentalso agreed to keep the island protected from other countries. In exchange, they shall open their doors to anyone who wants to visit the Island. This iswhy the island hosts two mandatory festivals which are meant for theislanders to greet the visitors coming from Morroco. Because visitors aren´tallowed to stay in the island, they have to later go and stay in Morrocowhich means that they would profit from tourism. This treaty has beenintact since its initiation.
