SPONSOR & UNDERWRITER PARTICIPATION

October 28, 2014 - 6:30pm

REMEMBERING ELIZABETH TAYLORElizabeth Taylor was a pioneer in educating the public about HIV/AIDS and advocating on behalf of people suffering from the disease. While she is known for her award-winning career as a beloved actress, she remains a champion in the hearts of those affected by HIV/AIDS. Today, her grandchildren continue her legacy as Ambassadors of The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF). Elizabeth Taylor’s first grandchild, Laela Wilding, along with ETAF, will join Southwest Center in raising a glass and toasting the fearless activist. Said Laela, “My grandmother believed in treating the whole person who was battling HIV/AIDS—not just with medicine, but with food, shelter, psychological support, and most of all love. Supporting Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS is a perfect example of her passion. It’s my honor to take part in your Jubilee celebrating Elizabeth Taylor’s film legacy, as well as my grandmother’s commitment to caring for people who live each day with HIV/AIDS.”

October 28, 2014 - 6:30pm

Elizabeth Taylor established The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF) in 1991 to raise funds and awareness to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS, and to provide assistance for those living with the virus. With its focus on direct care and prevention education, ETAF funds AIDS organizations throughout the world, providing support services to populations most in need.

The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (1) supports organizations delivering direct care and services to people living with HIV/AIDS, and (2) supports organizations that provide education to the public regarding the AIDS virus and the prevention of AIDS.

ETAF supports existing organizations and entities that have exhibited integrity in managing their operations along with the knowledge and ability to expediently provide services or achieve other designated goals.

Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS is the largest clinical trial, education, behavioral health and nutrition support center dedicated to fighting HIV and AIDS in the Southwestern United States.

A 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS (formerly Body Positive) was founded in 1990 by Kirk Baxter. The Center’s vision, “leading the fight against HIV and AIDS” is carried out through our mission of reducing infection, improving quality of life and contributing to worldwide research.

Today, hundreds of thousands of people around the world are taking HIV and AIDS-fighting drugs that earned Federal Drug Administration approval, thanks in part to the Center’s clinical trials and biomedical research program.

The Wrigley, a breathtaking landmark originally constructed in 1932 by chewing gum personality William Wrigley Jr., was thoughtfully designed as a 50th anniversary gift to his beloved wife. Sitting at the top of a hill, the mansion commands spectacular 360-degree views of the mountains and the city below. Its architecture includes curated elements of Spanish, California Monterey and Mediterranean styles.

Today the Wrigley is a Phoenix “Point of Pride”, a top destination for weddings and special events, as well as a popular restaurant and lounge offering lunch, dinner, happy hour and Sunday brunch.
