Predictions cannot be made consistently or reliably without the use of the Vargas. The Vargas must be calculated for all the Grahas as well as for all twelve Bhava points. It is the Vargas that provide the subtle differences in the horoscopes of two people born close together. While these differences are generally small they equate to huge differences in the person’s character and even larger differences in the events that take place in their life. In the Rasi chart, a Bhava always represents a person’s or things body and path in this world.  Thus the Lagna represents the native and their path in the world. The 7 th  Bhava represents their spouse’s body and their spouse’s path in the world and so on for all the Bhavas. The pertinent Varga always represents the specific degree of success that the native will have with the Bhava in question if the Varga is read from the Lagna in that Varga. Thus the Rasi and the lagna in the Rasi represents the native and their success with their own personal self; the Saptamsa and the 7 th  Bhava in the Saptamsa indicates the native and their success with their sexual relationships; the Navamsa and the 9 th  Bhava in the Navamsa reveal the success of the native’s marriage or other Ashram of choice, and so on for all the Bhavas and Vargas.  The 40 th , 45 th  and 60 th  Vargas are special – these three Vargas impact all areas of life. The 40 th   Varga represents ability for the individual to embrace the Bhava in their life and to find great happiness with the Bhava, or the contrary caused by adverse planetary positions which cause tragedy that leave a heavy emotional scar.  The 45 th  Varga represents the purpose the individual finds in the Bhava with well disposed Bhavas giving a strong sense of purpose to the life, the things the person can count on, while the poorly disposed Bhavas give those things that tend to leave the person hanging.  The 60 th  Varga represents the greatest storehouse of accumulated merit that is created through proper living, goodness, wisdom and humility. Well disposed Bhavas in this Varga have greater merit attached to them, poorly disposed Bhavas have more demerit attached to them.

www.astrology-videos.com The correct judgment of any Bhava requires the proper use of the Varga charts. Predictions cannot be made consistently or reliably without the use of the Vargas. The Vargas must be calculated for all the Grahas as well as for all twelve Bhava points. It is the Vargas that provide the subtle differences in the horoscopes of two people born close together. While these differences are generally small they equate to huge differences in the persons character and even larger differences in the events that take place in their life. In the Rasi chart, a Bhava always represents a persons or things body and path in this world. Thus the Lagna represents the native and their path in the world. The 7th Bhava represents their spouses body and their spouses path in the world and so on for all the Bhavas. The pertinent Varga always represents the specific degree of success that the native will have with the Bhava in question if the Varga is read from the Lagna in that Varga. Thus the Rasi and the lagna in the Rasi represents the native and their success with their own personal self; the Saptamsa and the 7th Bhava in the Saptamsa indicates the native and their success with their sexual relationships; the Navamsa and the 9th Bhava in the Navamsa reveal the success of the natives marriage or other Ashram of choice, and so on for all the Bhavas and Vargas. The 40th, 45th and 60th Vargas are special these three Vargas impact all areas of life. The 40th Varga represents ability for the individual to embrace the Bhava in their life and to find great happiness with the Bhava, or the contrary caused by adverse planetary positions which cause tragedy that leave a heavy emotional scar. The 45th Varga represents the purpose the individual finds in the Bhava with well disposed Bhavas giving a strong sense of purpose to the life, the things the person can count on, while the poorly disposed Bhavas give those things that tend to leave the person hanging. The 60th Varga represents the greatest storehouse of accumulated merit that is created through proper living, goodness, wisdom and humility. Well disposed Bhavas in this Varga have greater merit attached to them, poorly disposed Bhavas have more demerit attached to them.

  • Each Varga has its pertinent Bhava, which, along with the Lagna, are the two critical Bhavas to examine in each Varga. The Lagna represents the person in light of the effects of the Varga while the pertinent Bhava most concretely represents the most important facet of the Varga. Varga Pertinent Bhava Most Important Use 1-Rasi Lagna Body and Path 2-Hora 2nd Accomplishment/Wealth 3-Drikkana 3rd Siblings 4-Chaturthamsa 4th Fortune & Property 7-Saptamsa 7th Conception of Children 9-Navamsa 9th Marriage 10-Dasamsa 10th Great Deeds 12-Dvadasamsa 12th, 4th, 9th, 10th Ancestral Influences, Parents 16-Shodamsa 4th Happiness, Vehicles 20-Vimsamsa 8th Devotion, Worship 24-Siddhamsa* 12th Knowledge, Understanding 27-Bhamsa** 3rd Strengths, Weaknesses, Talents 30-Trimsamsa 6th Fatalities, Disease & Rasi Indications 40-Khavedamsa 4th Auspiciousness & Inauspiciousness 45-Akshavedamsa 9th Everything 60-Shastiamsa 12th Everything * Also known as Chaturvimsamsa **Also known as Saptavimsamsa

  • To fully judge a Bhava in accordance with the eight principles provided by Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra :

    1. In the Rasi chart determine the aspects and conjunctions to the exact Bhava point using the exact aspectual value in Virupas.

    2. Determine, in the Rasi, whether the aspects and conjunctions are made by Subha or Asubha dignified Grahas or by the Lord of the Bhava.

    3. Determine, in the pertinent Varga, whether the aspects and conjunctions are made by Subha or Asubha dignified Grahas or by the Lord of the Bhava in the Varga.

    4. Examine the 40th, 45th and 60th Vargas to determine whether the aspects are made by Subha or Asubha dignified Grahas or by the Lord of the Bhava in one of those Vargas.

    5. In all cases: a. Subha dignified Grahas support the Bhava. b. Asubha dignified Grahas harm the Bhava. c. The Bhava lord always helps the Bhava if it is aspecting it unless it is debilitated.

    6. Weighing these influences provides a clear understanding of the wellbeing or otherwise of the Bhava and the types of things that will support or harm the Bhava, as per the indications of the influencing Grahas.

Those six steps are all that needs to be done in order to judge the wellbeing or otherwise of a Bhava. Then there is taking care of the Bhava, manifesting the Bhava, and the focus placed on the Bhava in the persons life. For that we need to study the Bhava lord:

    1. Examine, in the Rasi chart, the pertinent Varga and the 40th, 45th and 60th Varga the Rasi

from the Lagna that the Bhava lord is in to determine the ease or difficulty with which the Bhava will be manifested with the 10th Rasi being the ideal.

    2. Similarly examine the Rasi lords as counted from the Lagna that the Bhava lord is joined. If it is joined with the lord of the 3rd, 6th 8th, 11th or 12th Rasi from the Lagna, then stress and sacrifice will be part and parcel of manifesting and taking care of the Bhava.

    3. Determine if the Bhava lord is Jagrad awake in each of the Vargas being examined, in which case the individual will have much to be proud off, or Sushupti sleeping, in which case the Bhava will be troublesome.

    4. Determine the Bhava lords Balaadi Avastha in the Rasi only. If the Bhava lord is Yuva adult or Kumara youth, the Bhava can realize most or all of its potential. If Vriddha or Mrita, less and much less potential will be realized.

    5. Examine the degree in the Varga that the Bhava lord is in. If at the beginning of the Varga, effects will be greater; if at the end of the Varga effects will be minimal and so more readily lost.

    6. Determine if the Bhava lords are Nashta lost due to having set behind the Sun (combustion), in which case the Bhava effects will be reduced and hidden.

    7. Determine if the Bhava lords are Piidita, overcome in planetary war, in which case the Bhava effects will be less. If the Bhava lords Shad Bala score falls below 100% of the required, then the Bhava effects will be very little.
