Christian Services is...
A strategy to help churches help their neighbors in need.
A network of churches working in cooperation with services agencies to provide effective help for the disadvantaged.
A vehicle that helps churches, collectively and individually, fulfill their biblical mandate to reach out to people in need.
Judson’s Love Clothing Center Back to School Volunteers Needed!
Judson is ready to serve children with back to school clothing in August and September—but they need your help! Volunteers from local congregations are needed to fill this gap and get children necessary clothing. Please Share this opportunity with your congregation!
Your Congregation can help Judson’s Love Clothing Center serve children with back to school clothing in August & September! While ideal for small groups of 5 or 10 people, individuals or smaller groups are also very helpful. Without volunteer teams, we will not be able to help children with school clothing! Talk to your church members now about participating in a day of blessing others with the love of Jesus!

Please share this information with your congregation! We know some churches are not yet meeting in person, but church members still want opportunities to serve!

Opportunities to Help
Food Resources in Greater Lansing
There are many, many food resources currently available in the Greater Lansing Area. In addition to the existing food pantry system which works with the Greater Lansing Food Bank, there are multiple mobile food pantries each month in various areas of the city. There are also a number other organizations and churches which are providing food help—many of them on the south side of Lansing.
If you have people requesting help with food needs, you can contact our office for the most current food distributions, or refer them to the Help Line (394-5411) for information. We also post many of the distributions on Christian Services’ Facebook page when we get the information. In addition, the Greater Lansing Food Bank has a food pantry map to help people find the closest pantry by zip code—go to: greaterlansingfoodbank.org/get-help/pantries
Two Churches Serving with Diapers! Since our last newsletter, TWO Churches have answered the call to have a diaper ministry! Serving south side families is St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. Serving north side families is St. Luke Lutheran Church—Christ Campus. What a blessing! Diapers are a large expense for low-income families, so supplementing their diaper supply is extremely helpful! As with all our Church network ministries, all area churches will be able to collect diapers to support
these diaper bank ministries and assist parents needing help with diapers. Both ministries can also use monetary donations with which they are able to purchase diapers at a reduced cost from the Capital Area Diaper Bank. For more information on how your church can partner with St. Michael’s and St. Luke in this ministry to serve families with young children, contact the Christian Services Help Center at 394-5413 or email us at [email protected].
