One outstanding neglect is in the mismanagement of the organized militia, and the proper use, care and ownership of firearms. This, unfortunately, has been greatly neglected. The fed-eral and state governments have both been work-ing toward the gradual elimination of all firearms.

Constitutional Principle: You cannot place the control of your right to arms under the control of the same people in whom you were meant to ‘guard against’ because of the opportunity the circumstance presents to public officials for tyranny in government.

Evil thoughts are born in the minds of animated beings (people), not in tools made of metal. Guns do not in-vent the idea of killing. They are inan-imated tools. Guns do not inhale and exhale. They are not made of flesh and blood. They do not hold animosities or grudges, and they do not run around looking for people to assault. They only follow orders of whoever picks them up and operates them, using the energy the gun was meant to possess. Generally speaking, it is the holder of the weapon, whose finger pulls the trigger who is responsible for its abil-ity to fire. God-given right.Our Founders reasoned it properly.

Guns are the instruments which sup-port God-endowed rights. They are tools for preservation of the individ-ual, his home, his land, and his other natural God-given rights. They have great force, which often is of essential value within our republic. Their force, when properly used, is used within our system to defend, protect, guard, and to secure freedom and liberty –

not to assault! The gun itself does not decide to pull the trigger. That respon-sibility is left up to humans. Criminals are the assaulters! Not the guns! Out of 350,000,000 people, the percent-age is low of those who severely abuse guns; however, that percentage could have been of a much lower sum if the government had not allowed the “well-regulated” militia to dissipate in America after the Civil War. It is logical that a man (or woman) must have some sort of aid for the defense of him (or her) self, and for that of his (or her) country, other than just bare hands.

Constitutional Principle: The true militia is an armed population.

If we are not to go back to using knives, bows and arrows, clubs, or like today, cans of spray paint, for our defense, we must wrestle with the subject of the proper use of guns by armed citizens, and the restoration of proper training of the citizenry, indi-vidually and collectively, as in a well-regulated militia. Constitutional militia training that needs to be restored. We are a nation who kill our young and future citizens in abortions, but leave open the gates for totally untrained people and crim-inals to enter, who come from commu-nist countries, and are unaware of the purpose of our militia system.

Constitutional Principle: The right to arms is the key-stone of our liberty.

The keystone amendment that backstops all of the other nine amend-ments in the Bill of Rights is the Second Amend-ment. It is the linchpin for all other rights in the Bill of Rights, a document that cannot be repealed, re-voked or rescinded. The Second Amendment carries a “shall not be infringed” order with it. Yet, the well regulated militia has been infringed, and if no corrective action is taken, the right to arms itself is headed for gradual dissolution. The well-regulat-ed militia was constitutionally meant to include the whole people.

Constitutional Principle: The Constitution and Bill of Rights belong to the people.

It is highly important to keep in mind that both the 1789 Constitution and the 1791 Bill of Rights were rati-fied by the people. These two docu-ments belong exclusively to the peo-ple. They are their possession! The Bill of Rights and its Second Amend-ment were meant to be in perpetu-ity and never repealed, revoked, or rescinded. This is the reason the key rights were placed inside this sanc-tuary. Congress does not possess the power or the authority to violate it. The Dianne Feinstein’s, and others to-

day of her kind in government service, are in serious violation of our laws.

Constitutional Principle: Consent of the governed is a requirement.

There is only one way that the prime rights in the Bill of Rights can be taken away (snookered away) from the people, in violation of the endow-ment given to them by the Creator, and that is, if the people can be men-tally manipulated (brain washed) to request, consent, require, or support

that such general and complete disarmament be done. There never has been any

true permission grant-ed, nor consent given

to prohibit use of hand guns by the

people. Today only a falsi-

fied document stands in fed-eral records

au- thorizing a complete pro- hibition of all hand guns. There never has truly been the required “consent of the governed” obtained! The global-ists dream of fulfilling “the general and complete disarmament program” (the congressional law signed by John Kennedy, known as Public Law 87-297 for U.S. cooperation in world disarma-ment) exists as the authority for such madness!

When the militia was operating in proper order from George Wash-ington’s time to the Civil War time period, anyone who was not mentally or physically fit to be a member of the militia was discovered and dismissed by the Brigade Inspector of each coun-ty. A Brigade Inspector was in exis-tence and in charge of every county in the U.S.A wherein every man was required to take annual militia train-ing unless two practicing surgeons

Printing more money won’t solve the United States’ debt problemBy Neil Irwin

The Paul Ryan budget plan re-leased Tuesday starts by laying out a grim scenario for America’s fiscal future: “Unless we change course, we will have a debt crisis,” it says. “Pressed for cash, the government will take the easy way out: It will crank up the printing presses. The final stage of this inter-generational theft will be the debasement of our currency. Gov-ernment will cheat us of our just re-wards. Our finances will collapse.”

Wow, grim stuff. It’s a dark outline of America’s fiscal future in the ab-sence of some major overhaul of gov-ernment finances, but Ryan is not nec-essarily alone in forecasting it. You can hear elements of that forecast in everything from the doom-and-gloom investment newsletter crowd to the language centrist deficit hawks who consider it a given that a debt crisis has al-ready begun.

As my colleague Ezra wrote Wednesday, there’s a solid argument that today’s budget deficits are too small, not too large, and that future deficits are less of a crisis than Washington discourse would suggest. It’s worth diving into

a second part of the Ryan view of the world, how-ever: The idea that the Washington’s eventu-al reckoning with its debt problem will be

selves through the printing press and nasty inflation resulting:

Most disastrously during epi-sodes like the hyperinflation of 1920s Germany or early 2000s Zimbabwe; more prosaically by the likes of Italy’s central bank in the 1970s and 80s.

So could the

United States follow their example? Many of the opponents of the Federal Reserve’s “quantitative easing” programs, by which they have pumped $2 trillion into the economy in recent years by buying government bonds and other securities, as a first step toward doing so.

But there are a cou-ple of big problems with that theory. First, the items in the feder-al budget that are the overwhelming driv-ers of long-term defi-cits wouldn’t really be helped if the govern-ment were to unleash massive inflation. The federal government has pledged to pay for med-ical care for the elderly (through Medicare) for the poor (Medicaid) and provide basic retirement income (Social Security).

But for each of those programs,

inflation wouldn’t solve the govern-ment’s financial problems. It would make them worse (to put it in the tech-nical language, they are real obliga-tions, not nominal obligations). In oth-er words, if the Fed becomes feckless and allows double-digit inflation to take root, the cost of medical care will

rise by double-digits too (or even faster, if the pattern of recent de-cades holds up). Social Securi-ty payments are indexed to infla-

tion; that policy could be changed, but any politician who tried to freeze So-cial Security (particularly at a time of high inflation) would surely find gray-

haired armies of angry seniors in their office making their dis-satisfaction known.

So inflation wouldn’t of-fer Congress much of a way

out of its deficit prob-lems; indeed, it could make them significantly

worse.But the second assump-

tion that Ryan’s dark vision of where government debt could lead us also demands another assumption: That the Federal Reserve’s tradition of in-dependence will crumble and that a future Fed will allow inflation to get out of control.

This is possible, of course. It happened as

recently as the 1970s, when Fed chair Ar-thur Burns allowed inflation to get out of control in no small part due to political pressure from the Nixon ad-

ministration. An acquiescent central bank is crucial to understand-

ing the inflation ep-isodes mentioned

above, in Germa-ny, Zimbabwe,

and Italy.But a

lot has

Currency devaluation takes place when one country’s currency is re-duced in value in comparison to other currencies. After currency devalua-tion, more of the devalued currency is required in order to purchase the same amount of other cur-rencies. A fictional example: If last year, one U.S. dol-lar pur-chased 10 Mexican pesos, then this year, one U.S. dollar can only pur-chase five Mexican pesos, the U.S. dollar has undergone a currency de-valuation.

Currency devaluation can take two forms. It can either be the natu-ral result of market forces, or it can be the result of government interven-tion. In the first scenario, the global market changes its opinion about the stability, value or future of a cur-rency and decides that it is willing to pay less. In the second scenario, a nation’s government fixes the rela-tive price of their currency below its present level and prohibits currency exchange at any other rate.

Currency devaluation can help

to achieve a more desirable balance of trade. For nations experiencing a trade deficit (when imports exceed exports), a currency devaluation will reduce the price of their products abroad and increase the price of for-eign products in domestic markets.

Increased demand for products in other coun-tries due to lower prices can also mean more jobs and low-er unemploy-ment rates at

home.Currency devalua-

tion also has negative con-sequences. Individuals hold-

ing a recently devalued currency have lost international buying pow-er. Their ability to purchase goods or services from other countries has di-minished. Additionally, if a govern-ment artificially devalues its curren-cy, it may be forced to purchase its own currency with foreign reserves, depleting its own assets and ability to pay public debt. This occurred in Russia after its 1998 currency crisis.

In 2001, the Argentine peso was pegged to the U.S. dollar. One peso was equal to one dollar. However,

By Jessica TysonDeployments can be hard for chil-

dren, so parents often look for ways to support them by keeping con-nections strong during times of separation. Part of what makes deployment dif-ficult for younger children is that, often, they have trou-ble understanding time. For instance, even though a child may know that his parent will be gone for nine months, he may frequently ask when mom or dad will return home. In addition, sim-ply looking at the total number of days on a calendar may be overwhelming to some children. Time marking is a great tool to help strengthen connec-tions, chunk deployments into man-ageable timeframes, and keep track of time during deployment.

What is time mark-ing? Time marking is a simple way for children to break down and measure the time from the beginning to the end of a time period. The goal of time marking is to provide a con-crete way to track visually the pas-sage of time. It also includes a routine or ritual that the child can enjoy with the family members at home. The time marking activity can be tailored to a child’s specific interests and the care-giver’s available resources.

Some examples of time marking ac-tivities include the Boot Prints and Ice Cream activities. The Boot Prints ac-tivity is created with the use of butcher paper, markers or crayons, construc-tion paper, scissors, and a pair of the Service Member’s boots. The parent and child work together to draw the parent’s destination on one end of the butcher paper and the family’s house on the opposite end. Then the child outlines one set of boot prints for each month of the parent’s deployment (so a 12-month deployment would require 12 pairs). These boot prints are set aside in a safe place. The parent and child can hang the map in the child’s room or any acceptable location in the house. As each month of deploy-

ment passes, the child can tape a set of boot prints on the butcher paper to create a visual reminder that mom or

dad is getting closer to returning home. When the deployed parent returns, the parent can help the child tape the last set of boot prints at the doorstep of the

family home. If you don’t have access to butcher paper, you can draw a pic-ture of the parent’s destination on one piece of paper and the family’s house on another, tape them to opposite ends of a wall, then just tape the boot prints directly to the wall.

The Ice Cream activity is another simple time marking activity to help young children manage deployment. It also provides built-in family time, which can be fun for older children

who may not be as interested in the time mark-ing activity. The family can use construc-tion paper to cut out a large ice cream cone and ice cream

scoops of different colors and sizes. The child can hang the ice cream cone up on a wall in the kitchen or his or her bedroom. Once a month during the deployment, the family members eat ice cream together at home or at a favorite ice cream shop and share their feelings about deployment. After eating the ice cream, the child tapes one scoop of the construction paper ice cream on the cone. This serves to mark the progress through one month of deployment. When the deployed parent returns home, the entire fam-ily can enjoy ice cream together, and the child can place a cherry or special topping on top.

In addition to monthly activities like Boot Prints and Ice Cream, some families choose to engage in daily or weekly rituals to help keep connec-tions strong. One possible daily activ-ity is reading a favorite deployment-

If you had to pick ONE THING that best predicts whether or not your mar-riage will succeed, what would you pick?

You might say “conflict.” If you fight a lot, then that’s not a good sign, right? WRONG.

I said people in healthy mar-riages fight. In other words, the fact that you fight is a sign that deep down you really love each other, that your relationship has potential. But if you want to be happily married, you have to learn to fight WELL.

SAN DIEGO — The Padres were playing my hometown St. Louis Car-dinals and my wife and I decided to have an overnight getaway at the U.S. Grant, part of Starwood’s Luxu-ry Collection. Its location is perfect; at the gateway to the Gaslamp Quar-ter and within walking distance to the ballpark.

The full service hotel is owned by the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, one of San Diego County’s indigenous Native American tribes. Historic landing: Osprey on Japanese ShipBy Doug Aguillard

During the month of June, Opera-tion Dawn Blitz 2013 took place off the San Diego County coastline from Coronado to Camp Pendleton and in-cluded exercises at San Clemente Is-land. Three Japanese ships were using Naval Base San Diego for this historic exercise aimed at demonstrating con-fidence in the Marine Corps’ Osprey, the hybrid helicopter-airplane.

Over 1,000 Japanese personnel of the Japanese Self Defense Force par-ticipated in Dawn Blitz 2013 along with the Armed Forces of Canada and New Zealand, along with the United States Navy and Marine Corps, bring-ing a total of over 5,000 troops to this training exercise. This was the first time New Zealand and Canada had participated in this exercise, which was only restarted in 2010 off of the San Diego County coast. Japan’s self-defense force has sent troops to train

with U.S. Marines here in the past, as recently as March 2013, but has nev-er sent ships to practice amphibious skills.

This comes at a time when there is high tension between Japan, China, the Philippines, and Taiwan over some disputed islands in the East China

Sea. With both countries modernizing their armed forces, it was reported by a Japanese news service that China re-quested that the Dawn Blitz exercise be cancelled. Since the Second World War, Japan is Constitutionally not al-lowed to build an offensive force, but their military is to be used as a self de-fense force..

This may be changing as the United States is pushing Japan to aid more in their country’s defense and interest. Although the tension continues, Chi-na is still expected to take part in the U.S.-led Rim of the Pacific exercise in Hawaii next year, which also includes Japan.

sco hired the hottest coach on the open market in McCoy. As an assistant coach under John Fox, McCoy learned from one of the best coaches in the NFL with stints in Carolina and Den-ver. His ability as an offensive coordi-nator to adjust and tweak his offense to successfully highlight Tim Tebow’s talents in 2011 and transition with Peyton Manning last season made Mc-Coy the top coach on many teams list for the head coaching spot.

With training camp set to open on July 26, here are three questions

surrounding the offense as the team begins a new era under a different regime.

Will the changes in the offensive line be good enough to protect quarterback Philip Rivers and establish a respectable running attack?

The biggest concern entering the offseason was upgrading the offensive line. After giving up 49 sacks and averaging a mea-sly 3.6-yard rushing average in 2012, Telesco knew changes had to be made. Deciding to keep only two of last years’ starters – C Nick Hardwick and RT Jeromey Clary – the Chargers signed four free agents and used their number one draft pick on RT D.J. Fluker to compete for not only start-ing positions but, that much-needed depth that has been lacking the last couple of years.

At first glance, it appeared as if Telesco was bargain shopping after signing LT King Dunlap and OG’s Chad Rinehart and Rich Ohrnberger

– veterans all but no real ‘big-name’ recognition. However, the signing of two-time Super Bowl winner LT Max Starks along with Fluker has added some credibility to Telesco’s signings.

It is now up to new O-line coach Joe D’Alessandris to pick out the five best players in training camp and form them into a cohesive offensive front. With lineman Stephen Schilling, Da-vid Molk, Colin Baxter, Johnnie Trout-man, Brandyn Dombrowski and Mike Harris all returning to battle for ros-ter spots, the line will hopefully turn into a scrappy, reliable unit.

Can Philip Rivers return to a top-notch quarterback after three disap-pointing seasons?

The best news for Rivers is that he now has an offensive coordinator and a head coach – rather than having one in the same. As an offensive coordi-nator for the Pittsburgh Steelers Ken Whisenhunt tutored a young Ben Ro-ethlisberger into a Super Bowl winner and as head coach he took the Arizona Cardinals to the big game with Kurt Warner behind center.

A quarterback is only as good as the players around him and Rivers is no different. Having lost specialists the likes of LaDanian Tomlinson, Vin-cent Jackson and Darren Sproles in addition to his protection up front in Marcus McNeill and Kris Dielman the

derachievement for the Los Angeles Lakers. For L.A. to even hope to re-turn as a competitor in the Western Conference, several members of their current roster must step up and take on a bigger role than they played in their previous campaign.

With a team that may lose its post presence in Dwight Howard and has already lost its leader, Kobe Bryant, for a large chuck of next season, it is of the utmost importance that a leader emerges from the locker room to help the Lakers tread water.

Whether it be their perimeter de-fense, interior defense or their offense in general, the Lakers are in desper-ate need of help. Due to the fact that they are well over the cap even with-out Dwight Howard, L.A. is going to need to shore up these issues by ex-pecting more from the players they have on their roster.

Given the fact that there is no guar-antee that Howard or any other player not currently under contract are re-signed, the committed players must be prepared to pick up the slack for a fallen Kobe Bryant and a roster that is in major turmoil.

Lakers who need to step up next season

Steve NashThe only way the Los Angeles

Lakers are even going to be competitive is if Steve Nash re-turns to form and becomes the creator he was at the tail-end of his tenure with the Phoe-nix Suns.

Obviously the Lakers can’t expect Nash to return to his former MVP form. However, Nash has to provide leader-ship and stability as the pri-mary facilitator of a roster that is going to be without Kobe Bryant for part of the season.

While his scoring average of 12.7 points per game last season is exactly what they should expect from him, 6.7 assists per game is just not going to get it done for a team that is in desperate need of a floor general.

If Mike D’Antoni retains his job for next season, expect Nash to be uti-lized via driving and kicking, running the pick-and-roll and orchestrating the offense like point guards are ex-pected to do.

Metta World PeaceAfter averaging only 7.7 points, 3.4

rebounds and 2.2 assists per game dur-

ing the 2011-12 season, World Peace rebounded with 12.4 points, five re-bounds and 1.5 assists per game dur-ing his 2012-13 campaign.

While his perimeter defense wasn’t what it was during his days with the Pacers, he was still arguably the Lak-ers’ best perimeter defender, and his streaky offensive play made him a true X-Factor on the floor.

However, with Kobe Bryant out and no salary-cap space left to make any major moves, the Lakers are going to need Metta World Peace to provide consistent offense. With Steve Nash needed to be the primary facilitator and creator, World Peace will have to be the second or third option on of-fense behind Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard if he re-signs.

Pau GasolWith Kobe Bryant out for an ex-

tended stretch, Pau Gasol is going to have to be the man.

Even if the Lakers re-sign Dwight Howard, it is clear that D12 is still too raw in the half court to be a consistent offensive threat.

Howard’s primary strengths come from the use of his athleticism and strength to force himself into position for offensive rebounds, putbacks and easy layups. With his ability to hit the jump shot, his bevvy of moves in the post and his soft touch around the rim, Gasol needs to score roughly 20 points per game while rebounding in double-digits in order for the Lakers to have any chance of being competitive.

Will Ryan Mathews finally live up to the hype of a first-round pick?

Entering his fourth year this is definitely the break or make year for the former Fresno State Bulldog. The unfortunate thing for Mathews is two issues – staying healthy and hanging onto the ball. In his short three-year career he has missed 10 games due to injury and lost seven fumbles.

Although he doesn’t possess the breakaway speed of some other backs, Mathews often shows he has all the tools to be a dominant dual-threat back. The problem is that his flashes of talent are too inconsistent. Coming off a season where he broke both of his collar bones, Mathews will have two things working in his favor coming into camp: he gets to run behind the 6-6, 320 Clary (who moved to RG) and the 6-5, 339 Fluk-er – a player who was rated the top run blocking tackle in the draft.

The Endzone: The X-factor ques-tion is, again, how fast the offense can grasp the new system and exe-cute it as a cohesive unit prior to the season opener against the Houston Texans on Sept. 9. The offense fin-ished last season ranked 20th in pts per game (21.9); 31st in yds per game (297.2); 24th in passing yds per game (205.9) and 27th in rush yds per game (91.3). Gone is Turner’s verti-cal passing attack in favor of short-er, more precision routes where the ball is getting out of River’s hand much quicker. The three and five step drops should keep Rivers off his back and help aid the rebuilt offensive line.
