Prayer by Pope Benedict XVI
Lord Jesus Christ, eternal High Priest, you offered yourself to the
Father on the altar of the cross and through the outpouring of the Ho-
ly Spirit gave your priestly people a share in your redeeming sacrifice.
Hear our prayer for the sanctification of our priests. Grant that all who
are ordained to the ministerial priesthood may be ever more
conformed to you, the Divine Master. May they preach the Gospel with
pure heart and clear conscience. Let them be shepherds according to
your own heart, single-minded in service to you and to the Church,
and shining examples of a holy, simple, and joyful life.
Through the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary, your Mother and ours,
draw all priests and the flocks entrusted to their care
to the fullness of eternal life where you live and reign with the Father
and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Our HOLY HOUR date and time has changed.
It is now the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm.
We are requesting that all committees lead 1 of the 12 monthly Holy Hours
each year. Folders with detailed instructions and handouts for each of the
month’s readings will be available for you thanks to Deacon Gib.

FAITH FORMATION
All Soul’s Memorial Service
On November 2, Sacred Heart will be celebrating its
22nd annual Memorial Service. Every year on All Soul’s
Day we recognize those who have gone home to their
eternal reward. As a parish we work very hard to extend
that invitation to include friends and family of our parish
members. We need your help with that. If you have had
a loved one pass away this past year please share their
name with me and I will include them when we send out
invitations in October. You can either call or email me at

Sacred Heart Parish is ready to Partner with
Habitat for an Interfaith Build.
Meet the Xiong Family
Mother, Lee Xiong, 33 years old. She was born in Thailand.
She was 9 years old when her family came to the US. She was
15 years old when she met her husband Ger. Lee currently
works at Miller Electric and has been there for 10 years.
Father, Ger Xiong was born in Thailand in a refugee camp. He
came to the US in January of 1990. He is very happy and
excited that Habitat for Humanity is going to help him and his
family build their new house. Lee and Ger have been married
for 17 years.
Iris Xiong is 16 years old and is going to be a junior at Apple-
ton East. Her GPA ranges from 3.45-3.8. She currently sleeps
in a room with 3 sisters. Iris is so glad that with the help of
Habitat for Humanity, instead of 4 people to a room, they
would all share a room with one other sibling.
Lin Xiong is 14 years old and a freshman this year. He is the
second oldest in her family and second to be in high school.
Lin says that as his family grows, they need more privacy and
space. As he waits for the house next year, he will make the
last year of their current house, school and friends worth
remembering. He appreciates everything the Habitat for
Humanity is doing for them.
Alvan Xiong is currently 13 and is in 8th grade. He says that he
lives in a big family and they all get along with each other and
take care of one another. He loves to play sports. His favorite
sports are soccer and football. He likes to meet new people
and is a friendly person. He doesn’t like eggs, coconut, beans
and avocados unless they are in a recipe.
Nicole Xiong is 11 years old and is in 6th grade. She says her
parents are super friendly, nice, kind and loving. She likes to
play cards, ride bikes and play on her tablet.
Cassandra Xiong is 8 years old and is in 3rd grade at Janet
Berry. Next year she will be going to Lincoln School. She is
happy to meet new friends and meet her new teacher. She
says she will be so happy at their new house.
Lee and Ger’s remaining children are Brenda age 5, Ana and
Ben are age 3.
The family is currently living in a 3 bedroom house. All girls in
one room, all boys in the other room. They are very excited to
have a new house that will fit their needs as a growing family.
Sacred Heart will not be working on the build site this year but
will donate $1,000 towards this project. If you would like to
contribute to this build, please call the parish office, or put the
money in an envelope and mark it for the Habitat Build.

more? Looking to clear out an old supply drawer?

Central Station at the corner of Oneida and Calumet.
Sacred Heart will receive a rebate of 10% of the total
sale. What are you waiting for? Buy some SCRIP today.

Readings for the Week
Spiritual Adoption - 26 weeks of pregnancy :
At 26 weeks ultrasounds often show babies
sucking their thumbs. The baby`s skin starts to take
on a reddish color. Babies now average just about 2lbs
for weight. Also, the buds for their permanent teeth
are forming deep in their jaw. Mom`s need plenty of
fluids and fiber intake. 6-8 glasses of water daily.
Apples, bananas, lentils, and whole-wheat pastas can
ramp up mom`s fiber intake levels! Keep praying for
our adopted babies and their parents !
