Summer is here and the living is easy! Yes, it's hot. Yes, it's humid. And yes, there

are mosquitoes as big as some compact cars around every bend. But I love summer!

I love the way the sun warms my skin the moment I step outside. I love the smell of summer rains that go away as quick as they stir up. I love the sounds of neighborhood children racing down the street. I love seeing the faces

of my four children in a less hurried way. Summer, to me, is the most fun time of the year! This month, Vinings Lifestyle wanted to show you the fun side of this season. Check

out the not-to-miss outdoor activities in Smyrna, the six products you need this summer, and some sizzling summer trends everyone can wear.

Until next month I'll see you cheering on the Smyrna Sharks or checking out the fresh summer fruits at Sprouts,

IN MY BAG

This month I have two essential summer products that are not only useful, but they give back as well. The Charity Wrap's soft and lightweight  Kimono Wrap ($19.99, thecharitywrap.com) will make you feel like you’re on vacation as soon as you put it on. Pair it with your favorite pair of shorts or throw it over your bathing suit as a chic cover-up for a day at the pool. Buy any prod-uct from The Charity Wrap and the following non-profits will benefit: Hydrocephalus Association, Save the Chil-dren, Mercy for Animals or The Mobile Closet.

The second item  is the  Sky Stripe Picnic Blanket ($59.99, tenthousandvillages.com). This picnic blan-ket is handmade in India and conveniently folds into its own nylon carrying pouch. By purchasing this blanket or any item through Ten Thousand Villages, you will help pay for food, education, healthcare and housing for artisans who would otherwise be unemployed or underemployed in 38 countries around the world.

PROVIDENT VILLAGE AT CREEKSIDE OPENS IN SMYRNA

Provident Village at Creekside is a new assisted living and memory care community which  recently opened in Smyrna on South Cobb Drive. It is designed to make it easier for seniors to live vibrantly in a variety of private or semi-private apartments. They feature a holistic approach to working with their residents while offering a high level of care and personal attention.

The 3-story building that makes up Provident Village at Creekside is just the first phase of a three phase senior development community at this site. This current building features 108 rooms and a designated memory care wing for those dealing with dementia or other memo-ry-related issues and may need more support.

The second phase of this senior adult community project was approved in March by the Smyrna City Council. This next phase will include a 10-story, 200-unit building that will be built on nearly five acres of land adjacent to Provident Village at Creekside  off South Cobb Drive near Interstate 285. This  building will accommodate seniors who wish to live independently yet within a senior commu-nity. The second phase is expected to be completed by Fall 2017.

RUSSELL ELEMENTARY SPACETEAM GOES TO 'SPACE'

Twenty-two students and one teacher from Russell Elementary School in Smyrna participated in the school's 18th simulated space

LOCAL ELEMENTARY STUDENTS WIN FIRST PLACE IN NATIONAL INVENTION COMPETITION IN WASHINGTON DC

This Spring, Smyrna  5th graders Riley Davis and Jonathan Fairgrieves, competed in Georgia Tech's Inventure Challenge. Their second place finish in the elementary division, as well as winning the People's Choice award, earned them a ticket to compete in Washington DC on the national level.

Through their research, these young scientists from Nickajack Elementary, were shocked to learn that 1.8 billion people in the world suffer from lack of access to clean water. Inspired, the duo was driven to find a cost-effective, green, renewable solution to this problem. Their solution has the potential to help people world-wide with lim-ited access to clean water!

Riley and Jonathan, along with their advanced learning teachers Amanda Wood and Dana Zhun,  traveled to Washington, DC  on May 19th to present their solution in the STEMIE Coalition National Invention Convention and Entrepreneurship Expo (NICEE). This is an annual celebration of K-12 inventors and entrepreneurs from across the U.S. In addition to competing against other teams from across the nation, participants visited the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and attended a lecture led by a NASA engineer and others.

The judges in Washington DC were rightfully impressed with this team's project. They won the First Place Award for the Fifth Grade Inventor For Best Overall Grade 5 Invention! Great job!

Provident Village at Creekside is now open in Smyrna.

The Spaceteam at Russell Elementary completed the school's 18th simulated space mission.

mission on May 12 & 13, 2016. This unique, one-of-a-kind program, was started by Mr. Chris Laster, a former USA Science Teacher of the Year during the 1997-1998 school year.

Since September, selected 4th and 5th grade students have been studying to complete their eight month course of training which includes learning 160 acronyms and 100 abbreviations, designing and programming the mission payload, completing an EVA (Extra Vehicular Activity, otherwise known as a spacewalk), and planning for seven different abort scenarios. Four student astronauts and a teacher, who will surpass over 200 hours in the sim-ulator during this mission, entered the simulator on a Thursday morning and exited Friday afternoon.

Mission time was  spent in the 164 square foot Intrepid Simulator. This is roughly the same amount of space in the real Space Shuttle’s crew compart-ment. While the astronauts were  con-ducting experiments in 'space', the rest of the Spaceteam  students  manned their  very own Mission Control by tracking data, telemetry, and solving any problems that occur. The mission was successful!

The Island Less Traveled

Puerto Rico is the island for everyone. It has beaches, rain forests, amazing food and drinks, historic monuments, and a vibrant night life. It's a U.S. territory so

no passports are needed and this diverse, colorful island is only a three-hour nonstop flight away. There's no wonder Puerto Rico tops many Atlantans' vacation lists.

WHY PUERTO RICO SHOULD BE ON YOUR MUST-TRAVEL LIST

16 Vinings Lifestyle | July 2016

Page 17: JULY 2016 - s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.coms3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/lifestylepubs...alan gardner, md | ben rosen, pa-c 2550 windy hill road - suite 204 marietta, georgia 30067 office

HISTORY

San Juan, the capitol of Puerto Rico, is one of the world’s greatest cities. A bustling commercial center, the city is ablaze in neon signs from hotels, restaurants, dance halls and shops. The highlight of this city is Old San Juan with its narrow cobblestone roads leading to the Castillo San Cristóbal  fort built in 1793 by the Spanish to thwart pirates, the English, the Dutch and others. It's the largest fort built by the Spanish in the New World and visitors can still see it today.

FOOD

Puerto Ricans are proud, passionate people and food is high on their list of life’s enjoyments. One of the best new restaurants in Old San Juan is Marmalade. It's famous for its white bean soup and red snapper ceviche. Looking for pizza? Piro Pizza Rustica puts its own spin on the pie by adding plantains!

DRINK

The Bacardi Rum plant is accessible via a short boat ride from San Juan and is among the island’s top attractions. Guests can see how Puerto Rico’s most famous product is made, taste it for them-selves, and bring some home to share.

Puerto Rico  is also a leading coffee-producing region as well. In the mountain regions of Toro Negro, about a two hour drive from San Juan on intimidatingly twisting roads, there are a number of boutique coffee haciendas that offer tours. These tours will start and end with a steaming hot cup of the freshest, richest coffee anyone has ever tasted, making the mountainous drive worth the trip.

BEACHES

Naturally, Puerto Rico is also known for its beaches. Visitors can choose from more than 270 beaches. Among the best are Flamenco Beach, Condado Beach Playa Sucia, and Sun Bay Beach, which is on Vieques Island. All of them feature soft, pristine sand with perfect-ly-hued  blue green water ready  for swimmers, boaters, snorkelers, and sight-seers alike.

Cobblestone streets in Old San Juan make it extra special.

RAINFOREST

Many people will focus on the fantas-tic beaches in  Puerto Rico, however the island has an amazingly diverse ecological system as well. El Yunque National Forest is the only tropical rain forest in the U.S. National Forest System. It is a virtual par-adise with lush foliage, waterfalls, rivers, flora, palm leaves the size of a man and beautiful — and loud — animals. The best way to experience the rain forest is to take a tour that starts at the El Portal Rain Forest Center.

ADVENTURE

For those who want a little more excite-ment in their  travels, head to Toro Verde Nature Adventure Park, about an hour drive from San Juan, in Orocovis. The park is 316 acres and features one of the world’s longest zip lines. The Monster zip line is equivalent to 28 football fields, as high as 850 feet  and one could go as fast as 95 miles per hour! There are other zip lines and even a ropes course that are sure to bring out any-one's inner Ninja Warrior.

Puerto Rico is a friendly, safe,  eclec-tic island with plenty to offer singles, families and couples. With  easy access from  Atlanta via Delta (three to six f lights daily), there’s just one question left to ask: When will you go?

Ignoring anything will not make it better. It will almost certainly make it worse though. While men are often reluctant to go to the

doctor, there are many reasons why they should.“A lot of men’s diseases can be treated if there is early detection,”

says Dr. Thomas Emerson, M.D., a urologist with WellStar Medical Group. “But it’s important for men to be aware of their bodies, their health, make sure they get regular check-ups and if something does not look or feel right, get it checked right away.”

Many of men’s issues are age-related, he says. For instance, testicular cancer is one of the top killers for men in their 20’s and 30’s, mainly because they don’t do monthly check-ups. “It’s like women and breast cancer. All men should do monthly checkups looking for any bumps or a mass. Testicular cancer doesn’t take a lot of young men but it would take even less with early detection. Before it spreads, it can be treated and even cured.”

As men age, colon cancer should be on their radar screen, especially if there is a family history. A colonoscopy should be done every 10 years starting around age 50. If there is a family history, it is advised that

men start at age 40 and have one every five years instead of the usual 10 years. It is the same with bowel cancer, which can also be detected via the faecal occult blood test (FOBT) at the same time a colonoscopy is being done, thus eliminating two potential cancers in one outpatient visit.

Dr. Emerson warns that if any blood is found in urine or in other med-ical tests, a trip to the urologist is warranted. “Early stage bladder cancer can be treated. When I’m dealing with patients, I tell them there is an 85% chance it is not a malignancy, and for those who do have a malig-nancy, about 90% of the time the disease is curable. But men shouldn’t delay because if it is allowed to evade the bladder wall, it can be lethal.”

Prostate cancer is another disease that affects men and Dr. Emerson encourages them to get the prostate specific antigen (PSA)

blood test. He acknowledged the test is somewhat controversial as the government recently  changed  its stance on what ages a man should start getting the test. Dr. Emerson agreed that perhaps some people were "overtreated" but he also was certain, based on the data, that many lives were also saved.

“In the last 25 years since the advent of the PSA test, there has been a 45 percent decrease in prostate specif ic mortal-ity rate. That is huge. It is a slow growing disease and you watch it and you’ll probably die from something else waiting for the prostate cancer to grow,” he says. “But if it becomes aggressive you can be dead in six months.”

In addition to these male-specific diseases, it is advised that men, along with women, watch their diets, monitor their choles-terol, be mindful about diabetes and have a bone density test to test for osteoporosis, a spinal deformity or osteopanenia.

“Overall, men should simply be aware of their health and their bodies and not ignore warning signs,” he says.

Host The Best Backyard

SummerOf TheBash

ARTICLE AND PHOTOGRAPHY ROTRICIA COLEY

It's summer. Don’t bother turning on the stove or setting the dining room table. It’s time to enjoy every minute

of  the long days of summer. Fire up the grill and get out-doors to eat, drink, and party. It's that time of year when impromptu gatherings with friends are welcomed with-out the stress to impress.  Casual and fun is the way to go! Here are the best tips to help anyone relax and host the best backyard bash of the summer.

24 Vinings Lifestyle | July 2016

Page 25: JULY 2016 - s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.coms3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/lifestylepubs...alan gardner, md | ben rosen, pa-c 2550 windy hill road - suite 204 marietta, georgia 30067 office

TIMING IS EVERYTHINGThe hot and steamy summer weather can be draining and put a damper on the fun. Avoid midday gatherings during

the hottest part of the year, typically from noon until 3 p.m. Host a brunch before noon, a late afternoon barbe-cue or evening dinner party that will be more comfort-able and enjoyable for everyone.

KEEP THE BUGS AWAYMake sure guests are there to eat the food and not

be the food at any outdoor event. Keep annoying mos-quitoes away with strategically placed Citronella can-

dles. Pretreatment of your yard with a mosquito barrier treatment in advance of your party is a good idea too. Use

a licensed and state certified company like Mosquito Blues in Smyrna. Facebook.com/MosquitoBluesATL

GRUB ONChoose a menu that can be prepared mostly on the grill. Plan ahead and mar-

inate meats as this step alone can elevate just about anyone to 'barbecue master'. Don't forget about the vegetables though. Grilled corn is one of summer's best treats. Be sure to choose food items that can withstand the summer heat. Pasta salads are easy and can be jazzed up with sun-dried tomatoes, roasted bell peppers, olives, or oil-based dressings. Want a menu that is easy and fun? Go with grilled pizza. For a sweet option, try a grilled brie and fresh berry pizza drizzled with balsamic glaze and topped with fresh basil.

DRINK AND BE MERRYSet up a drink station to keep everyone hydrated with lots of cold

drinks, including plenty of water. Consider investing in a large galvanized beverage tub to ice down the drinks.  Another great option is to roll a beverage cart outside and add a self-serve drink dispenser on top. Serving  fruit like watermelon can also help keep guests from getting parched.

IT’S GAME TIMEEven at laid back shindigs, it is a good idea to set out

a few outdoor games to keep the fun going. Think easy games that can be played while holding a refreshing drink in one hand like horseshoes, bocce ball, or a game of spades. Also, look for games that will distract the kids, giving their parents time to relax. Kids welcome any chance to get wet so set up the sprinkler and pull out the water guns. Go old school and start a water balloon fight!

LET THE MUSIC PLAYDon’t forget the tunes! Put together a playlist ahead of time ready

to stream or use Pandora or similar streaming service as an easy way to get the music flowing.  Be the first to bust a move at your own party.  Dancing counts as entertainment too.

LET THERE BE LIGHTFor evening events, lighting is the single most important decor item

to include. Using string lights, lanterns, and candles throughout the yard really set the scene for the party. String lights are the best choice for the most impact. They are affordable, reusable, and easy to install. Plus there are so many stylish options like mini flamingo or metal star string lights. (Don’t be tempted to pull out those Christmas lights.)

CHRISTINARUSSELL

SCAN TO SEE MY STORY

I had suffered a very late-term miscarriage in October 2012. The loss resulted in depression, anxiety, and a huge body image problem to go along with the extra weight. I have struggled with my weight on and off since my mid 20's. I've gained, I've lost and I've gained again. Each time trying a na new diet, a new gym, or a new home fitness program, but nothing seemed to last.

In March of 2013 my husband showed me Arthur Boorman's inspirational video and I haven't looked back since. I started DDP YOGA on April 1st, and within 3 months I had already lolost 41 pounds. Two months after that I lost a total of 60 pounds and dropped from a size 18 to a size 6! Almost 3 years later the weight is still off and I'm stronger, leaner, and more flexible than ever.

Culinary Creations

This recipe is the quintessential sum-mertime dessert. It brings one of sum-

mer’s best fruits, blackberries, together with a cornmeal cake, almost reminiscent of cornbread, but softer and sweeter. It’s a casual dessert and  easy to prepare, yet it  is beautiful with a  bit of a wow factor. It’s perfect with a scoop of ice cream after a family barbecue, or alongside a cup of coffee in the afternoon. (It even goes great with yogurt for breakfast. We won’t tell.)

The ingredients for this recipe were pro-vided by Sprouts Farmers Market. Open in Smyrna for a little over a year, Sprouts offers natural and organic foods at reason-able prices. Their produce section steals the show with beautiful produce that’s also super affordable. When things are in season, prices can drop to as low as $1 a pound! You can find Sprouts at 4330 East-West Connector Smyrna, GA 30082.

INGREDIENTS:

• 1 stick plus 3 tbsp butter, softened• 1 cup brown sugar• ¼ cup sugar• 12 oz blackberries, rinsed and stems removed• 1 cup cornmeal• ¾ cup all-purpose flour• 1 tsp baking powder• ½ tsp cardamom• 1 tsp kosher salt• 3 large eggs• ½ tsp vanilla extract• ½ cup cream

Blackberry and Cornmeal Upside Down Cake

INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Over medium heat, melt three tablespoons of butter, swirling the pan to butter the sides. (You can also do this with a pastry brush.) Add in ¼ cup of sugar and com-bine with the butter, letting it bubble and slightly caramelize. Turn the heat down to low and add the blackberries, arranging in a single layer. Cook for about two minutes, letting the berries soften and the mixture bubble. Remove from heat and set aside.

In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, cardamom and salt.

In the bowl of a stand mixer, or using hand beaters, beat remaining butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix in eggs one at a time making sure they’re thoroughly com-bined, scraping down the side of the bowl if necessary. Mix in vanilla and cream.

In a couple batches, gently fold in cornmeal mixture. Drop spoonfuls of batter over the berries, gently spreading it over in an even layer.

Bake for 30-40 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a rack for about 10 minutes. Then, carefully run a knife around the side, place a dish or cutting board on the pan and flip over. (The pan may still be hot so use oven mitts if neces-sary). Serve with whipped cream (pictured here), ice cream or by itself. Enjoy!

Water & Woods

Summer is officially here, and with the warm Georgia temperatures comes a

need to soak up the sun. Luckily, Smyrna is rich with outdoor opportunities. Sick of going to the same place? Here are four unexpected places to spend time outdoors in Smyrna.

HERITAGE PARK

Heritage Park is arguably one of the best locations that Smyrna has to offer.  The 105-acre nature preserve features amazing oppor-tunities for viewing local wildlife. The 1.7 mile walking trail has numerous twists and turns, keeping the hike easy and interesting,  even for  small  children.  Hikers will enjoy the ele-vated boardwalk over wetlands, the pass through a forest, the trail along Nickajack Creek, and the ruins of Concord Woolen Mills and Concord Covered Bridge. A picnic area is also available for summer snacks and meals.

SMYRNA VILLAGE GREEN

Not only is the Smyrna Village Green within walking distance to all the shopping and din-ing that Smyrna is famous for, but the Green is also home to several delightful areas that are perfect for small children.  Visitors love the covered train, which doubles as a small playground and a shady place to peo-ple-watch. The small lake is home to a family of ducks, which never fail  to entertain, and there are a few short walking trails perfect for younger ages. Be sure to check out the many activities that are hosted here each week.

SILVER COMET TRAIL

The ubiquitous Silver Comet Trail is always a great option for summer outdoor activi-ties. Over 60  miles long, the trail begins at the Mavell Road Trailhead in Smyrna and winds through West Georgia to the Alabama

line. Benches and picnic tables dot the trail, making for easy rest and dining opportuni-ties.  There are also numerous water foun-tains, emergency phones, and, of course, amazing views.

TOLLESON POOL

Summer isn’t complete without a dip in a neighborhood pool and Tolleson Pool is a local favorite.  In addition to being a tradi-tional pool with two diving boards, Tolleson also contains a  sprayground  for children 6-years-old and under. It is the home to the dominant Smyrna Sharks too. Swim lessons are available. In addition, there are tennis courts and sports fields adjacent for more exciting summer activities.

Swimming pools or hiking trails, parks or playgrounds, Smyrna is the ideal place to be during the long, hot summer.

Healthy Lifestyle

Outdoor fun in the sun is imperative in the summer. The days are long, the sun is hot, and it is the perfect time for extended vaca-

tions, maybe even a trip to the lake or the beach. While fully enjoying all that summer has to offer, here are a few tips to beat the heat and stay safe this summer.

1. LATHER UP. Apply sunscreen with at least SPF 15, even on cloudy days, during all outside time. The best sunscreens will have UVA and UVB protection. Apply 30 minutes before going outside for the most complete coverage. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), it only takes 15 minutes of exposure to UV rays for skin to be damaged!2. BEAT THE BUGS. Wear insect repellent during any outdoor ac-tivities, especially with increased fears of mosquito-borne dis-eases. For best results, think about choosing an insect repellent with an active ingredient (such as DEET, oil of  lemon-eucalyp-tus,or picaridin). For kids, look for  products  with 30% or less of these ingredients. There are also all-natural options, such as Buzz Away Extreme (BuzzAwayExtreme.com) made with essen-tial plant oils for those that want to avoid active ingredients.3. STAY HYDRATED. Cool down by drinking plenty of water and other non-alcoholic beverages, regardless of activity level. Pay special at-tention to children, the elderly, and anyone else with chronic illness-es, as they are at an increased risk of heat stroke or dehydration. 4. DRESS FOR THE SEASON. Wear lightweight, loose fitting clothing in light colors. Cover up with long sleeves as much as possible. Consid-er hats that shade the face, scalp, ears and neck. Opt for sunglasses that block UVA and UVB rays. 5. EVALUATE PLAY AREAS. Utilize  playgrounds with soft materials such as wood chips, sand or mulch. Check the area for any potential hazards for children such as wood stumps, rocks or loose guardrails. And always stay alert, keeping children within eyesight.6. USE LIFE VESTS. When boating, know that properly-fitted life jackets can prevent drowning. Purchase a Coast Guard-approved life jacket for every individual on the boat and consider having non-swimmer children wear one around any body of water.7. GET ENOUGH REST. Summer might seem like the perfect time to throw out routines, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Adminis-tration estimates that close to 100,000 crashes are the result of driver fatigue each year. Get a good night's rest before the next road trip!8. BE READY FOR EMERGENCIES. Have a first-aid kit nearby in case of  accidents. A basic kit should include bandages, cleaning wipes and a small tube of antiseptic ointment. If a family member has an allergy, make sure to include an anti-allergy cream, medications and/or an Epi-Pen.

Summer is the perfect time to explore the outdoors, try new things and spend time with friends and family. The opportunities are limitless. Just make sure to keep in mind these safety tips so summer stays fun!

Parting Thoughts

ARTICLE AND PHOTOGRAPHY PRESTON SMITH

Georgia is called the ‘Adventure State’ because of the variety of its destinations from the Appalachian mountain highlands to the

sandy beaches of the Golden Isles. One lesser known gem is the seven hundred square miles of Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge – the largest swamp in North America.

Thirty years ago my dad took me on a father-son canoeing trip through the Okefenokee. Following that example, I recently persuaded a group of father-son pairs to leave the suburban comforts of Cobb County and travel down below the gnat line in search of re-creating that adven-ture. We launched our canoes at the Suwanee Canal Recreation Center on the eastern edge of the wildlife preserve and emerged three days later on the western side at Stephen Foster State Park – a journey involving some 30 miles of canoeing.

The swamp is chock full of wildlife – snakes, frogs, turtles, deer, bob-cats, bear, an astounding variety of birds and yes, many alligators. The dads offered well-intentioned, but bumbling, advice to our boys affirming that we were not the least bit afraid and making assurances like:  “Alligators only eat once a week and typically drown their prey rather than eating it alive.” Those pitiful platitudes sounded decidedly less confident as we pressed deeper into the swamp and lost the last bars of service on our cell phones.

We paddled through inky-black water in the shadows of ancient cypress trees draped in curtains of Spanish moss which seemed immune to the passage of time. We camped on lonely wooden platforms elevated a few inches above lily-pad covered water-prairies.  Each long day of pad-dling ended with the forty-something year-old dads popping aspirin and bemoaning the lack of an available masseuse. Then after raiding the Yeti

coolers, we reluctantly attacked the byzantine tasks of erecting compli-cated tents, Jetboil cooktops and Eno hammocks for the evening – a moment of which Adventure Outdoors would be very proud!

Three hundred miles from Atlanta’s traffic and glare of the city lights, we enjoyed the simple pleasures of spending quality time together, disconnected from the distracting digital world back home. We found amazement lying under the immense dome of stars while listening to the other-worldly cacophony of sounds from the nocturnal swamp creatures.

The adventure weekend also offered occasional opportunities for her-oism. When one of the boys dropped his dad’s Nikon camera into the water, I boldly proclaimed, “if only the camera were waterproof, I myself would swim and retrieve it.” To my dismay, I was informed that the cam-era was indeed waterproof. And once you have announced your bravado to a group of teenage boys, you are required to bet your life in order to save your ego. I had been searching in the murky water about twenty min-utes, when one of the dads calmly advised that a large gator was quietly approaching. So, at the expense of my pride, I made an executive decision to declare the camera lost forever and the search completed.

Now having twice survived the swamp experience, I can attest that these trips with our children reinforce character traits of teamwork, courage, discipline, perseverance and hard work – as well as the value of laughing at oneself. It was a golden opportunity to see a breathtaking part of our Adventure State, make unforgettable memories and help shape our boys into the talented young men they are becoming. Thirty years from now, I hope my son will tell me stories of returning to the swamp with his own children. That should be about the time my shoulder stops aching from all the paddling.

“We were really fortunate to meet Eddie and Tracy at the Smyrna Team. They helped us sell our previous home at the asking price within a week and then closed a great deal on the new home that they helped us find, on the same day! In addition to finding the right home and a good neighborhood, we also had a newborn. They were very professional, responsive and have great attention to detail (which really helped to relieve the stress associated with the home-buying process). We have since used the Smyrna team to purchase several investment properties and

have had the same great experience and service each instance. Thanks Smyrna Team!”
