From Our Chapter Directors

Hi,

We are working on meeting on July 9, 2020. We will let everyone know what is happening.

I-2 will not be doing the corn roast. We hope next year will be the best year ever. Thank you to everyone at this time that started working on this event.

On June 6, 2020 we had a small ice cream ride. I-2 went to New Baltimore for sundaes. There were 20 members attending. It was a wonderful short ride due to no bathrooms and little restaurants open.

I-2 on June 14, 2020 attended the motorcycle and car show at Packard Museum. Thank you to Mike and Lisa Ashcraft for leading the ride. Thirteen members appreciated the hard work that went into this show. Thank you also to Bruce Williams for telling us about the bikes and cars.

Leora (Mom) Greathouse is home and doing very well. She rode with Gordon White to New Baltimore and had ice cream. Karen is doing well but not up to riding yet. Dave Daisher rode with us but Collen did not. She is still on the mends.

We are sorry to tell everyone that Herb and June Efaw’s son passed away on June 5, 2020. His name was Joseph S. Efaw. Herb and June’s address is HC 62 Box 36 Jacksonburg, W. V. 26377. Herb and June did so much to support GWRRA. We send our condolences from the GW family.

On June 20th we had the honor of welcoming Cole Hoffman to our family. He and our granddaughter Katie Gula were married. We wish them the best that life has to offer as a couple.

Rosie and I will be celebrating 50 years together on July 25th. We enjoyed all our family and friends and hope to have many more years together. Thank you for being our friends.

Hey I-2 members,

It was so good to see some of you for the ice cream ride, the Packard Museum tour and a ride to Orwell after. They were both perfect days for riding!!!!!

I know we may not get to have picnics and reunions this summer, but here is a nice cool dessert recipe to try.

Blueberry Angel Dessert

1 package ( 8 oz.) cream cheese, softened

1 cup confectioners sugar

1 tub (8 oz.) cool whip, thawed

1 prepared angel food cake (14 oz.)

2 cans (21 oz. each) blueberry pie filling

Cut cake into 1 inch cubes, set aside. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar. Fold in whipped topping and cake cubes. Spread evenly into an ungreased 13 x 9 inch dish. Pressing out to fill the dish completely. Top with the pie filling. Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours before cutting into squares. Serves 12 to 15. Hope you enjoy this recipe!

Well it is now July and I finally was able to ride last Saturday. 20 of us went for ice cream and Gordon was nice and gave me a ride. Also Ron Kendra took pictures and posted them. What a great day! Great ice cream, awesome Friends, and a nice day. That's what it is all about. Let’s do some more.

Hi Everyone,

The virus is winning…….so far. The riding season and “get together’s” have been put on a “hold” of epic proportions. My thoughts…...”This Sucks!”. Good news though, we are going to

try and take a couple of rides this month and hopefully start a trend for better things to come before Summer slips by.

Lisa and I finally got a ride in on the 13th (of June). We managed to get a little over a hundred miles, give or take. It felt good to be on the bike. It was a perfect day for a ride as it was sunny and not too hot. A light jacket fit the bill nicely. We ended up at Ruby Tuesdays on our way home and had our first sit down dinner since things closed down. The food was awesome and it was nice to get a hot meal that didn’t involve a ride home in a “to go” container. If you count the breakfast at Bob Evans on the Thursday prior, I guess it would be our second meal out since the chapters last real scheduled ride on March 8th.

On Sunday the 14th, Bruce Williams once again, gave us a fantastic tour of the Packard Museum. He gives us so much info about the machines whether they are cars or bikes. I don’t know how he remembers it all. One of the featured bikes this year was one that he himself had restored. It was a 1906 Neckarsulm from Germany. He had to make many of the parts for it to complete the restoration. A very talented man Bruce is, to say the least. We finished the day off with a ride to the A&W in Orwell for food and ice cream of course. Another nice day and great company.

As for the planned rides, there is still too much uncertainty as to when, or if places will be open. So, I have planned a brown bag ride on Saturday the 11th to the Bolivar area. There is a Subway right next to our planned lunch stop. Fort Lauren has a pavilion and museum that we can visit if open. I am sure we will hit some sort of ice cream place on the ride home. On Saturday the 18th, we will take a ride towards Franklin, Pa, eat lunch in Meadville, stop and see/feed the fish at Linesville, and finish with ice cream in Greenville. That’s the plan at least. Ronnie wanted me to put a couple of rides together that we could count on a bathroom to use and not go too terribly far since most are not used to long rides with this crazy year as it has been. It should be fun as long as the weather and/or world events don’t mess it up. I look forward to seeing you all soon (if I ever get out of work….).
