MUSIC TO OUR EARS
Our Choir, under the direction of Sandra Pace, elevates the worship of Holy Child. We are grateful to them one and all for the investment of time and talent spent in rehearsal and performance - all for the glory of God and the edification of his people.
One member, Charles Cook, in addition to being a vocalist, is a guitarist and a composer.
On Good Friday Holy Child heard Charles singing his original composition, Looking Down From the Cross. Beyond that experience, Holy Child shares the joy of his work being heard more widely. We are proud to know that Charles has been recognized by The Great American Song Contest as attested to in the following letter.
Charles Cook, I’m happy to inform you that your song Looking Down From the Cross has been selected by our judges as a Top 5 Winner in the Christian category of the 18th Annual Great American Song Contest.
You will receive a winners packet containing your award certificate and prizes. As a top winner, you are invited to display an Award logo on your website.
Judges praised Looking Down From the Cross for its “emotionally compelling lyrical story” and “beautifully crafted melodic composition.”
Congratulations on your excellent songwriting, Charles. Last year’s competition was particularly strong in your category, making your achievement all the more impressive.
All the best in your songwriting endeavors.
