Summer is upon us! July is another great month to be at FB Idalou! Our youth will be going to youth camp as well as our RA’s. Be in prayer for both groups that God would speak clearly to them. We will also have a church wide pool party at the Idalou pool on July 29th. So make sure you mark your calendars! As you continue to pray and identify your oikos list, pay attention to people you are coming in contact with on a regular basis. Opportunities are simply God’s way of helping us seize the moment to tell about His story in our lives. How is God working in your life? Take time daily to focus and learn to hear from God and see how He is working in your life. As we get ready for the fall, I am looking forward to many of our ministries restarting. Be on the lookout for women’s Bible studies, men’s Bible studies, and opportunities for our youth and children. Volunteers are always needed, so be praying about the chance you might have to help. I hope as you vacation, you get to rest and recuperate. As you are in town, invite a friend to join us on Sunday’s at FB Idalou! You folks are awesome!!! Hello everyone! I hope your summer is going well! I would like to thank everyone who has donated their time and finances in our various fundraisers. Because of you most of our kids will not have to pay full price for camp with some of them being completely paid for. That is truly a blessing. You have no idea the impact you have on our students. Parents, you should be getting or have already gotten a total for what you owe for camp. If you haven’t, come see me. Super Summer was amazing! The kids had a great time learning the gospel and how to spread it around to their oikos. If you would like to hear stories from Super Summer, feel free to ask our students. Our next camp is right around the corner! We will be heading to Heart of Texas Baptist Encampment in Brownwood. Pray that our kids are changed by the gospel.

One last thing, I NEED VOLUNTEERS. If numbers are the same as they were last year and if everyone that is coming up

from 6th grade attends youth we are looking to have 40-50 kids on Wednesday nights. That is a lot. We currently have two volunteers

that come and help lead small groups. I am going to need more. If you are interested in committing to a semester or full school year

of being a small group leader, let me know. If the thought of that makes you nervous, I am planning a training session late this month

or early August. This training session will consist of a study of youth culture and different techniques for leading small group.

PARNENTS YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND AS WELL. I am currently working on the lessons and materials. I hope to have a date

soon. If you would like more information, feel free to contact me!

We are having a Pool Party/Picnic Sunday, July 29th, at the Idalou Swimming Pool.

Pool Time is 5-7 p.m. Picnic in the park to follow

(bring your own picnic dinner)

If you plan to attend please contact the office to RSVP by July 23rd. Per Pool Rules we must provide them with a total count of guests.

Everyone Welcome!

Church Wide Party!!!

I would like to take this space and opportunity to welcome some new

volunteers to the media team at FBI. Lee is going to be tied up with extra projects

at work which will require some weekends for the next few months and may be

unavailable for running the sound for morning services. Charlie Brown has graciously consented to come

on board to help run the board. (See what I did there?) His contributions are already making a welcome

difference to the services. Dawson Riley has also gotten involved helping with both sound and media for

us. She's had valuable experience at school with sound mixers and various media tools and will be assisting

Charlie in whatever capacity she's needed.

I don't want to sign off without thanking the guys who are already demonstrating a willingness to

help. Arturo, Byron and Lannie have been priceless in their willingness to assist when needed. So here's a

big “Thanks!” to all the tech folk, new and old, who contribute to make Sunday services happen every

week at FBI. We can still use some depth in our “bullpen” if you would like to join us.

See you Sunday!

~Jim~

Dear First Baptist Idalou ~ I just wanted to write you a quick note to say thank you on behalf of the Wylie/Younglife committee. We have had an incredible year and have seen God work in amazing ways in the lives of our students. Our leaders have been able to break into new student groups at school. Three junior girls are serving for a month at Young Life camp and we are taking over 50 students on trips this summer. This would not be

possible without generous donor’s like your church. Would ya’ll join us in praying for our trips this summer? Would you pray for kids to walk from death to life, and grow deeper in their relationship with God?

Thank you again for being a part of this important work.

Sincerely ~ Kim Quiroga (Wylie YoungLife committee)

your readers to any other forms of com-

munication that you’ve created for your

organization.

You can also use this space to remind

readers to mark their calendars for a

regular event, such as a breakfast meet-

ing for vendors every third Tuesday of

the month, or a biannual charity auc-

tion.

If space is available, this is a good place

to insert a clip art image or some other

graphic.

This story can fit 175-225 words.

If your newsletter is folded and mailed,

this story will appear on the back. So, it’s

a good idea to make it easy to read at a

glance.

A question and answer session is a

good way to quickly capture the atten-

tion of readers. You can either compile

questions that you’ve received since the

last edition or you can summarize some

generic questions that are frequently

asked about your organization.

A listing of names and titles of manag-

ers in your organization is a good way

to give your newsletter a personal

touch. If your organization is small, you

may want to list the names of all em-

ployees.

If you have any prices of standard prod-

ucts or services, you can include a listing

of those here. You may want to refer
