NEWSWORThY: VISITINg TALENTIn anticipation of the Jaipur Festival, AES featured two extraordi-nary authors: Eleanor Catton, winner of the Man Booker Prize for her novel The Luminaries, and our own AES Alum of 2013, Olivier (Sanjay) Lafont (Class of ‘97) with his novel The Warriors.

Canadian-born and New Zealand-raised, Catton is the youngest author ever to win the Man Booker Price, and The Luminaries is described by critics as “The type of novel that you will devour only to discover that you can’t find anything of equal scope and excitement to read once you have finished…” Her presentation and Q&A sessionl in the theater was enlightening.

Lafont is also an accomplished actor, with the hit film Three Idiots among his credits, and was also a writer for the film Hari Om, winner of the Best Foreign Film at the 2005 Tahoe International Film Festival (USA). Olivier visited campus for the HS assembly, MS presentation and signed his book on behalf of our library.
