OPPORTUNITIES TO WORSHIP FROM HOME

Welcoming the Holy Abraham and Sarah welcomed three strangers who turned out to be the Lord. Jesus said, “If anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple,” the giver will be rewarded (Matthew 10:42, NIV). An ancient Jewish proverb asserts: “Hospitality is one form of worship.” A Russian Orthodox monk is said to have told a younger one, “Sometimes I see a stranger coming up the road and I say, ‘Oh, Jesus Christ, is it you again?’” And an old Gaelic poem declares, “Often, often, often, goes the Christ in the stranger’s guise.” Sometimes we think we must do something big to serve God. Today, when you smile at someone on the street, take time to entertain a child’s question, bring cookies to a new neighbor, thank a server or clerk … know that you are serving Jesus, that you are worshiping God. —Heidi Mann

Vacation Bible School is going virtual this summer! Climb aboard for

mountains of fun at Rocky Railway! On this faith-filled adventure, kids discover

that trusting Jesus pulls them through life’s ups and downs. Our virtual VBS

will be a joint community event! We’ll join Plantation United Methodist Church

and other Broward churches for a week of interactive livestreaming.

Virtual VBS will be the week of July 27th – 31st, 6:30-8:00pm. We’ll all tune into

the livestream through the Plantation UMC website. If you miss a livestream,

you can watch it any time after on the church’s website. (Links will be sent at a

later date.)

The livestreams will be engaging and interactive. Each child will receive a “Stay-

on-Track Pack,” which contains supplies for them to participate in the day’s

activities. Please contact your church’s coordinator for more information about

how to register and receive the “Stay-on-Track Pack”.

Virtual VBS is for ages 3 through completed 5th grade. Families are encouraged

to participate in the Virtual VBS together. Keep in mind that preschool-aged

children will need help with some of the at-home activities.

For those churches registering through Plantation UMC’s website:

Registration will start the week of June 7th. Go to www.plantationumc.org/vbs.

Cost is $15 to cover the cost of the Stay-on-Track packs.

The Board of Properties, led by their Chairperson, Donna Swift is rehabilitating the church grounds. These last two weeks they have been planting the entire University Dr. side of the church. A week or so ago they removed a lot of scrub palms, rotten roots and debris. There will be some much-needed tree trimming, lawn restoration and power washing.

SUMMER CAMP After much consideration, planning, and prayer, we are pleased to announce that our Preschool Summer Camp will be open on a modified and downsized basis for our enrolled students. Camp Wonder will be available for our older PreK Campers and Camp Curious for our littlest PreK Campers beginning Monday, June 8. We are working on providing a link on the school website (https://oslplantation.school ) Following CDC and State guidelines - our preschool camps will remain in intimate groups: one adult to nine children in Camp Wonder; and one adult to six children in Camp Curious. Due to health precautions, these small groups will remain stable throughout the week and not co-mingle. Call the school office for more information. 954-370-2161
