    4. Outdoor Expo for military sportsmen JBLM Lewis Main Exchange and more than 50

    hunting and fishing guides, vendors and outdoor experts will host an outdoor expo for servicemembers June 22 in the Exchange parking lot. The Outdoor Expo, scheduled from 10 a.m. to7 p.m., will allow service members to mingle with locals who share enjoyment of outdoor

    activities in the Northwest. Expo attendees are invited to free seminars given by 17 localhunting and fishing experts to chat, share information and develop contacts. Representativesfrom the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Project Healing Waters, along morethan 20 outdoor products manufacturers, guide services and vendors will have booths set upto answer questions and discuss their products. The JBLM Outdoor Expo is open to allactive duty, reserve, National Guard, military retiree and family members who have access tothe installation.

    5. Meet to form Army Golf Cup team. The annual Rainier Golf Cup challenge scheduled forJune 21-23 is a modified Ryder cup format with 40 members from the Army competingagainst the Navy and Air Force teams. Army golfers are invited to attend a meeting on May30 at 5 p.m. at the Eagles Pride Golf Course to discuss the format and set up qualifyingrounds to select the Army team.     6. Get your seafood fix at Summer Feast Come out to the Warrior Zone at JBLM-LewisNorth June 22 from 5-7 p.m. for their Summer Feast. The menu features a seafood boildinner for $17 or a grilled salmon dinner for $11. The event is available for ages 18 and

    TRAINING, EDUCATION and EMPLOYMENT

    1. Military Couples Reintegration after Deployment Study is seeking military couples whoare in a committed relationship (do not have to be married) and live together that haveexperienced at least one deployment separation in the past 10 years to participate in thisresearch study. Little is known about stress levels in military couples during thereintegration process or about effective ways to support and assist couples during this timeafter a deployment. The purpose of this study is to learn more about military couples andtheir reintegration experiences after deployment. We want to give not only the soldiers anopportunity to share experiences but their spouses/significant others too. If you agree toparticipate in this study, you and your spouse/partner will be asked to complete separate on-

    line surveys, which will take about 30 minutes to complete, donate a small amount of yoursaliva(less than a teaspoon) in order for us to measure cortisol levels (a measure of stress).We are allowed to give a $10 gift card to the non-active duty spouse/significant other at theseappointments as a thank you for participating. New Parent Support Program The New Parent Support Program (NSPS) is a professionalteam of social workers and registered nurses who provide no-cost, in-home parenting supportand educational services to JBLM families with children ages 0 - 3 years of age. Theprogram helps parents learn to cope with stress, isolation, deployment transitions, and theeveryday demands of parenthood. We provide ongoing home visitation and community-

    based support to families at their convenience. We work with them individually or as afamily on a wide range of parenting issues. For more information on services please call:253-966-7271.

    Childrens GroupsThese are ongoing support programs for military children to interact and play with peers, andfor parents to connect with other parents. These are drop-in groups so no registration isrequired.

    Infant Play Group: is a lovely laid back atmosphere for parents and infants to beginsocializing with one another. Infants may benefit from socializing with other infants and

    learning new ways to communicate. Parents may benefit by receiving support from otherparents about resources in the area, feeding tips, sleeping routines and much more. Infantplay group is held every Thursday afternoon at the Rainbows and Raindrops Play Center at1:00.

    Play Morning: is a group for all children up to age 5. Play morning is a music based groupwhere children get to sing, dance, and play musical instruments together. The facilitatorsprovide the tunes and lead the group in fun filled music activities.
