DIOCESAN LISTENING SESSIONS ON RACISM Since the tragic and horrific events of Charlottesville, Virginia just one year ago, we have seen the effect and impact that racism has had on our society. The Bishops of the United States have formed a committee to focus and address the sin of racism. Here in the Diocese of Brooklyn, Bishop DiMarzio has formed a commission on Racism and Social Justice. The goal of this commission is to deal with the social and religious problems that racism in all of its forms presents to us. The commission would like to hear from all of the faithful of the Diocese of Brooklyn. To that end, we will be hosting two open listening sessions, one in Brooklyn and one in Queens for all the faithful of the diocese to attend. These sessions are meant to be an opportunity for us to share how racism has impacted our parishes and the church as a whole. These sessions will be held on Saturday, June 16 beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi - St. Blaise Parish Center in Brooklyn and Saturday, June 23 beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Clare School Auditorium in Queens. SESIONES DE ESCUCHA DIOCESANAS SOBRE EL RACISMO

Desde los eventos trágicos y horrendos de Charlottesville, Virginia, hace apenas un año, hemos visto el efecto y el impacto que el racismo ha tenido en nuestra sociedad. Los obispos de los Estados Unidos han formado un comité para enfocar y abordar el pecado del racismo. Aquí en la Diócesis de Brooklyn, el Obispo DiMarzio formó una comisión sobre Racismo y Justicia Social. El objetivo de esta comisión es abordar los problemas sociales y religiosos que nos presenta el racismo en todas sus formas. La comisión desea escuchar a todos los fieles de la Diócesis de Brooklyn. Con ese fin, organizaremos dos sesiones de escucha abierta, una en Brooklyn y otra en Queens para que asistan todos los fieles de la diócesis. Estas sesiones están destinadas a ser una oportunidad para que compartamos cómo el racismo ha impactado nuestras parroquias y la iglesia en general. Estas sesiones se llevarán a cabo el sábado 16 de junio a las 11:00 a.m. en St. Francis of Assisi - St. Blaise Parish Center y el sábado 23 de junio a las 11:00 a.m. en St. Clare School Auditorium.
