If the weather cooperates, it is anticipated that most of the 50 registered airplanes will cross the finish line on June 19, probably sometime during the afternoon. The race will have started in Concord, CA, June 16, 8:00 AM and racers must finish by 5:00 PM Thurs, June 19 in order to be competitive. This is a VFR (Visual Flight Rules) race, sunrise to sunset, guided by GPS or 'finger-on-the-map" flying. There will be nine STOPS at strategic places across the U.S. separating legs of about 300 miles each where planes can be refueled and racers can be refreshed. Look for the five official Air Race Classic timers stationed mid field at York as they man their stations and prepare to synchronize their clocks for the exact second the racers cross the final mark. Single engine airplanes make up the majority of the racing 'ships' with one twin engine airplane also in the competition. The field will be dominated with Cessna airplanes, 29 to be exact, and will be competing against Cirrus, Grumman, Piper, Mooney, Aviat, Beechcraft and Diamond makes and models. Pilots will represent 32 US states and 4 foreign countries. There will be 13 collegiate teams. Ground enthusiasts can follow the race on their computers through a unique tracking device known as SPOT, a GPS unit that sends a message to technical receivers. Each airplane will have a SPOT in their airplane. They also will have a BAD ELF timing unit. To follow the race, log onto www.airraceclassic.org and click onto the tracking link. Once the airplanes are timed at York, racers will fly up to Capital City Airport in northern York County for four days of celebration, relaxation, and tallying scores to determine the winner of this 38th consecutive event. Restaurant Opportunity

For the last 18 years, we have been fortunate to have a restaurant at the YorkAirport. In the beginning of 2014, our restaurant operator moved to anotherlocation, leaving us without a dining option. The space has been cleaned up andwe are actively looking for someone who is willing to make the investment toopen a new restaurant. We believe it is important to have a restaurant, not only for those of you who flyin or "hangar fly", but as a link to our community. If you or someone you knowwould like to explore the opportunity further, please let Sheri Miller know at 792-5566.

----------------------------------------------------------------------- Narco 122 NAV - $950This is a complete ILS unit that fits in a standard 3 ¼ inch hole. I purchasedthis unit on Ebay about 4 years ago for my aircraft but, because of health issues, never installed it. Last fall the unit was checked out on the bench by Ben Travisat Smart Avionics at Deck Airport. The reason for the low price is the nav flag isinoperable. All nav frequencies are selectable and operable as well as all localizer and GSfrequencies. The localizer, glide slope and marker beacons all worked perfectly. There is a very slight rough spot when selecting the frequency but allfrequencies are easily selectable. The CDI needle is responsive and accurateand when an ILS frequency is selected the localizer needle and GS needle areprecise. This will make a great and economical primary or backup ILS unit wherepanel space is limited. It comes with a connector. Contact: Jim Trygg 717.319.0817
