Message from your Exalted Ruler…
Greetings to all Members of the Westbrook Lodge # 1784:
Wow! It’s already June! We have some awesome entertainment scheduled for the entire summer. Come on down, enjoy the fresh air and gentle breeze from Long Island Sound. It is a beautiful place to meet friends-old and new. The pavilion has been completed, adding more opportunities for our lodge and our members. Chef Paul has been actively taking requests for reservations. It is quite the venue for any special event. Our Lodge Spring Clean Up was held on May 4th; it went very well with some new
faces who volunteered and everyone making new friends. The Kentucky Derby Dinner & Dance was a lot of fun. (My horse is still running!!) “Trivia Night” on Wednesday May 15th, in our members lounge, was a big success and a lot of fun for everyone. Thank you to Michelle Martone and Elena Linblad for organizing this event. Our delicious Mother’s Day brunch was well-attended. The Emblem Club’s Fashion Show had a lot of familiar faces walking the runway. We would also like to give a BIG shout out to our dedicated volunteers working hard on the BINGO Committee Team! .
Volunteers are the ones that make all of these events happen! THANK YOU!!
Upcoming June Events:
Entertainment on the beach every Sunday, all month long.
2019 Beer Fest and Bourbon Tasting, June 15th. This event will be open to the Public.
Veterans Luncheon, June 22nd
Our Lodge’s Annual Raffle tickets are being sent to all our Westbrook Elks members.
Saratoga Springs Bus Trip, August 17th. July 21st will be our first of two Lobster & Steak cookouts; the second one will be held on August 18 th. Please
watch for information in the July Antlergram! Gate Keeper Committee Co-Chairs, Barbara and Mike White, are looking for volunteers to help at the gate on Sundays. If interested, please sign up in the members lounge or at [email protected]. In closing: Please consider joining one of our teams. Volunteers are always needed and welcome, so please don’t hesitate. Our organization runs on Volunteers and it’s greatly appreciated.
May God Bless You and Our Lodge!
Fraternally,
Ray Smith

VETERANS APPRECIATION LUNCHEON Saturday June 22nd. Please arrive by 11:30
Your Veterans Committee members are hard at work to make sure that all attendees of our premier Veterans event of 2019 leave knowing that their service and sacrifices are appreciated and honored. We are excited and proud to be hosting this years appreciation ceremonies in our beautiful, new pavilion. The construction committee did an excellent job in overseeing the project. We especially love the fact that the veteran memorial dedication bricks were used for the walk ways into the pavilion, how fitting! Kudos! Weather permitting we will once again try to have a nice contingent of military vehicles on display. Please be sure to check them out and ask questions of the owners. They are rightly proud of their vehicles and the dedication it takes to keep them running. Let’s make sure they know how much we appreciate them bringing them to our ceremonies. Also weather
permitting, Pilot-in-Command Kevin Minckler and I will do our annual aerobic air show for our attendees so, please remain until the end for that and the retirement of the colors to close our event. Let’s once again show our Veterans, Service Members, First Responders and their families that Elks truly do care and truly do share from the heart. God bless you all and thanks always for your support. Bruce Fagan 203-417-8031 Phil Sengle [email protected]

How is the Elks National Foundation Helping Connecticut?
When you give to the Elks National Foundation, you're doing more than funding the Elks National Drug Awareness and "Hoop Shoot" programs. You're doing more than supporting the Community Investments Program and providing Emergency Educational Grants to the children of deceased or disabled Elks. You're doing more than meeting the needs of today's veterans and maintaining the Elks National Memorial. You're doing all that, and you're supporting Elkdom in your state. During the 2018-19 Lodge year, the Elks of Connecticut donated $136,505.90 to the Elks National Foundation Thanks, Linda Nolf [email protected] 860-227-8028 Remember the Elks motto: “Elks Care, Elks Share”.
