Gospel Reflection 10th Sunday in Ordinary Time — June 5th

Luke 7:11-17

Today’s Gospel from Luke tells us of a time when Jesus comforted a mother whose son had just died. Jesus, in his compassion, called the man back to life.

Think about the sick and the dying in your neighbor-hood, in your parish. What could you do to show them that you care?

YOUTH & YOUNG ADULTS

Holy Family Catholic School Did you know that the 3

rd grade social studies curricu-

lum focuses on Portland history? As an end-of –the-year project, students in 3

rd grade are building models of Port-

land bridges to celebrate our local history. Also, students study the engineering and geometry concepts associated with bridge building. On Friday, June 3

rd, students show-

cased their bridges in Celebration Hall, answering ques-tions and proudly sharing what they learned with the school community.

Holy Family CYO

Holy Family CYO Athletic Director Position Open Holy Family CYO is looking for a new Athletic Director. A three year term is ideal with the third year being a transition year to a new AD. Responsibilities include coordinating our basketball, volleyball, swimming and track teams and acting as the point of contact for the school, parish and CYO main office. We have a strong board of 10 people which includes a commissioner for each of our four sports. A stipend is included. If you are interested please contact Ted Collins at (503) 313-8136 or [email protected].

Current Altar Servers for

Funerals If you have been serving for at least 6

months, and are currently on our ministry schedule, then you are qualified to be on our funeral altar servers list. Students clamor for these assignments because they give them an op-portunity to serve and earn a small stipend, too. Funeral Masses require a bit more than a typical weekend Mass. As such we have a few well-seasoned altar servers who help our newer servers learn the ropes. To add your child’s name to our rotating list, please con-tact Peggy at [email protected] or 503-774-1428 x102.
