Please Notice: There will be no Regular Meeting in June, Next Scheduled meeting will be Tuesday July 31 st . President’s Report Donald Shelton Hello Darlington Homeowners, I would like to start by thanking everyone that participated in the pond issue voting. Those votes were needed desperately so that your Board had the power to take an alternate route when acting on the issue at hand. Your Board had a tough time collecting the votes, spending many hours walking door to door in the heat, speaking with many of you and collecting your ballots. Many of you graciously invited us into your homes and for that I personally THANK YOU. I would also like to thank the street captains that took part in collecting many votes for us as well. Your dedication never goes unnoticed. Unfortunately, I am writing this letter before the 20 th of June, therefore it is still to early to know if we collected enough votes to make a positive change, or to announce which way the votes went. There will not be a Board meeting the last Tuesday of this month due to the Annual meeting we just had in June. Your board recently met and decided unanimously not to change anyone’s current positions. The current Board will stay as is. Donnie Shelton ~ President, Chris Taylor ~ Vice President, Jerald Brantley ~ Secretary, Kristi Evangelista ~ Treasurer, and Sherri Reese ~ Member at Large. We will be back on schedule in July so our next community meeting is scheduled for Tuesday July 31, 2012 at 7:00 pm in our clubhouse. Hope to see you all there. We are going to start in the future issues of the Darlington Farms Gleaner, highlighting individuals and writing small articles about volunteers in our community. At this day and time we have few volunteers willing to make a difference in our community. We desperately need people with a few hours of free time a month that reside in Darlington to volunteer for committees such as, but not limited to, The Social Committee, and The Finance Committee. We also need volunteers to water the flowers at our clubhouse and entryway. If you can help in any way please contact a board member, or committee member, to announce your willingness to help. Volunteers save us money and make our home a better place to live. That’s all that I have for now to write about, so I will pass the pen to Mr. Chris Taylor and give him a chance to add some information. See you around the community and at the next board meeting. A few words from the V.P Chris Taylor Hello All, Seems as if the last newsletter started out by talking about Spring, Now all the Heat of Summer has stepped upon us. Summer is definitely here. I would like to thank everyone that came out for the Pool Opening Party, It was a challenge to get the pool ready, we had some unexpected issues that had to be corrected, but somehow we managed. If you have not had the opportunity to check out the improvements, I certainly encourage you to do so. Also, I would like to toss out a High Five to all the Social Committee volunteers and all others that made this a success. WON'T YOU HELP?? Our community has been blessed over the years to have those who are willing to serve. These people have been willing to serve on the board---on the social Committee---on the finance committee, etc. As time goes by, however, those who have been serving have reasons why they need to step aside. It can be because of health problems. It may be because they have reasons to do something else. We do need to have new people who are willing to step forward to help. Right now, our finance committee needs to have new people who are willing to step forward to help. IF you are willing to do this, then please contact either Fred Langsdale (586-7872, [email protected]) or one of the board members. Our Sympathy or Good Thoughts
