CHAMBER NEWS

The rain did not interrupt Lisle’s Memorial Day Parade

and Picnic on Monday, May 25, 2015. This is a major

event for Lisle’s Ross Bishop VFW Post 5696. This

year’s Grand Marshal was Sergeant Richard Varney,

U.S. Army (Discharged 1945). Thank you to Bill Kay

Chevrolet for loaning the Lisle Area Chamber of Com-

merce a Corvette for the parade. Sonny Smith, Paula

Gleason and Mark Acquaviva represented the Lisle

Area Chamber of Commerce in the parade.

Due to the predicted storms and rain all day the first Cruise Nights had

to be canceled. But, don’t miss the next Cruise Nights to be held June

27th on Main Street downtown Lisle. Evviva Bar & Eatery is the Pre-

senting Sponsor for all Cruise Nights. Costumed characters, a magi-

cian, cars, food, DJ and a 60’s band will be there to entertain the entire

family.

On June 10, 2015, Mayor Joseph Broda will again be cooking the Broda

Burger at Evviva from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Proceeds are donated to

American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

The days are longer in the summer months and it is time to get outside

and enjoy our neighborhoods. The new concert series at Prairie Walk

Pond, the Lisle Community Band, Lisle Park District’s Movies in the

Park, Eyes to the Skies over the 4th of July weekend, French Market,

The Lisle Woman’s Club Garden Gait, The Morton Arboretum, Naper

Settlement are just a few of the local attractions. Also, DuPage County

has approximately 191 miles of regional bikeways and trails. Check

their websites for dates, times, and locations.

Did you know that the Village of Lisle with DuPage County has a

monthly recycling program? Residents may bring their electronics to

the Village’s recycling collections at 4930 Lincoln Avenue, IL Rt 53,

(behind Lisle Lanes) on the third Saturday of every month from 9:00

a.m. – 11:00 am. Check the Village website www.villageoflisle.org for

their accepted items listing. Great Lakes Credit Union is sponsoring a

shredding event on June 20, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Enjoy your summer!
